Hi Adam20! I tried Windows Server 2016 on a VM and I dont have any problem with the mouse. Maybe because it is managed by my native OS?
I just shut it off a while back because it decded to go rogue on me and destroyed one of my experimental hacking apps.
I've got it running in VM's and it works absolutely fine - just as soon as i run on my physical it doesn't like it - must be a driver or something causing this.
Using Windows 10 RDP client, does it from each machine I've tried it from. It's really strange as if I install Windows 10 on the said machine, I don't have this problem. Don't have the problem running Server 2012 R2 either.
If so, yepp, very strange. Problems with shadows are usually surfacing using some older linux clients, but not windows ones.
Yes it's really annoying because it runs really well otherwise, I utilise Hyper-V backup functionality so that is why I cannot use Windows 10 client. So unfortunately I'm stuck with Server 2012 R2 as I spend 90% of the time using RDP connecting to the said machine so it's not as though I can live with it.
Did you try to install another Server copy (native VHD or separate partition), just to check if the problem is reproducible? Although my main server is still a 2012r2 and I use 2016 mainly as client, i have used it remotely since tp2 and I never faced a problem on RDP sessions. In the meantime you can use Nomachine or VNC to workaround the problem
