Okay, that is indeed interesting how KMS is viewed as exploit activation and not cracks. In that case there should be a whole section on KMS on here I believe right?

A crack changes/patches files and other things in the product itself. Exploits just take advantage of flaws in the original implementation, here the KMS protocol. A KMS emulator simply has learned to give the correct answer if a client asks for KMS activation.
