i'm having trouble downloading gears of war ue, every few minutes it stops with "0x80073CF0", i can resume it but then it stops again, getting really annoying. only seems to do it on the very large downloads. anyone know of a fix? oh and, does anyone know how to backup downloaded apps / games to restore later?
This error message has several meanings, but when you're talking about, that it occurs only if You downloading large files, this might mean, that the folder %windir%\SoftwareDistribution and / or %windir%\SoftwareDistribution\DeliveryOptimization is full or contains corrupted files, that can not can not be overwritten. But it could also mean that Windows files are corrupted and you need to replace them with new ones or fix them.
I don't use registry cleaners, deleting the files from delivery opt, i now get CF9 instead. don't know why it's only do this on big game downloads...
The moral of the story Avoid The Store !!! especially if You have a weak line And Hey, Bat.2 is running Win 10 so He's sticking to running only on Legit Game Servers. He hasn't been Banned from one of the "Other Type" Game Servers in like Days Got a Bad habit of making Himself Administrator so He can Punish anyone He thinks is cheating
say i have another machine and use the same ms account on it, can a game be moved to that machine to avoid re-downloading it? and if so, how would one go about doing it? i already attempted such a thing, i went through the registry and found as many keys i could for said game but that didn't work as the store kept re-downloading the game.
Simple and straightforward way: No You have to jump through hoops, install certificates and use third party installers, and what not to get your app installed. The process breaks when a new update is pushed to windows. So yeah! Microsoft cannot get few simple things right but hey, I am totally happy if Cortana gets useless improvements which no one will ever use. Maybe if we sue them, then they will allow us a way to do it. Apparently that's the only language their feedback team understands. Right now, you have to download the whole app each time you fresh install Windows. Apparently Satya and his henchwoman Sarkar have a view that whole world is on unmetered gigabit internet connection. /rant. Feel lighter already.
Think i've got a solution; 1. download a game as normal 2. copy folder to new destination and remove encryption (i made a folder called sspAswodniW, tried WindowsAppss but it didn't like the name) 3. make a dummy file QuantumBreak.exe and put that with QuantumScrof.exe in the games root 4. run QuantumScrof to install 5. play forza 6 apex - check quantum break - obviously works gears of war ultimate edition - testing now....gonna take a while to remove all encryption.. halo spartan assualt - didn't work, deployment failed error, something about manifest not in root folder..even though it is. halo spartan strike - didn't work, deployment failed error, something about manifest not in root folder..even though it is.
anyone know how to disable developement mode on an installed package? gears of war ue doesn't work in dev mode. the qb installer sets dev mode on for package but not for os.
had to reinstall the games i had downloaded (2), you'd think ms would put in a backup feature...restored windows from a image and had to re-download both games. still can't believe there's no connection speed or time left in the windows store when you are downloading something big.
Yeah, there isn't any way to do those. I've sent that feedback a long time ago and there hasn't been even a little bit of progress on it. All I can say is to remember that before you click the purchase button on anything from their store.
