They have an original IBM machine that includes the 5" floppy disks containing 3.30 listed on the local Craigslist, and the seller is asking $1,000 USD for the system. Can you believe that? I should have kept mine, and made a mint selling it today.. Of course, no one would know how to use it..... Chaser
Just use your Feedback App, and it could happen..... not... But that was a good one! And think how much easier to carry around a 3.5" disk, that it is to carry around a thumb drive...
I remember that exact collection of user guides. It took one longer to read through them, than it did to boot up your system at the time.... Ah, the good 'ole days... You know, you're setting on a gold mine. Collectors will pay LARGE for items like that now!!
I totally understand. It was simply a last ditch effort on my part to enable him to experience TP. It seemed to me that all other avenues had been exhausted, thus my suggestion. It was not my intent to be off topic.
Welcome back after a long day's work! Here in the USA, I believe it would be very difficult to find a computer in any retail store for sale that did not already have some version of Windows installed on it, or within the last couple of years, Chrome OS, as in the Chromebooks that are somewhat popular. There may be some, but I do not recall ever seeing a new computer sold that way here. It's enlightening to see how different the retail markets are between the US and India. Do they do the same thing with, say, smart phones? Are they offered without Windows Mobile on them, and then once you have purchased the phone, you install Windows Mobile and the apps you desire to have on it? That would be a novel concept here in the US. Chaser
No not with Phones. We get the same OEM manufactured Windows phones with preinstalled OS. Although in India a major community of Smartphone users are on Android, Even I'm deeply in love with it. I keep myself and my phone updated with the latest nightly builds of the various Android based AOSP communities. I infact searched for MDL on our one of the most favourite app for forums browsing that is "Tapatalk" , couldn't find it though. M still curious if senior members can tell us the reason behind it. Going to sleep now, Its already 2:20am here Have a early morning call (9:30am) with my Onsite (US counterpart) Team @ Charlotte ..
Did you know that you, or anyone else, can install Android on your laptop also? I'm not sure why someone would want to do that, but it is possible to accomplish. Have a good sleep, and talk with you tomorrow, if you get the time. Chaser
glad to hear that you at least got it installed somewhere so you get to give a whirl. i've got a few more suggestions, but as long as you have it going i won't bother for now.
If I'm not totally wrong, there wasn't any 5.5" Floppies around, just 5.25" (5ΒΌ") beside of 3.5" and 8"!
