The same has been already tried on previous pages (and in a proper way of separating RE tools), though not in a scripted form. Please read the thread before posting.
Hey Chaser, Thank you so much for being with me all the time. Love the way people help each other here in this forum. Have returned back from Office. Had dinner and m all set to start my adventure again ;-) Btw yesterday night, I took my friend's lappi to chat with u guys while experimenting with my lappi.. M installing Win 8.1 rite now on mine.. Should be up in 15mins.. Now the last night's update, I did left my Lappi on with Windows Logo, in the hope that by any means it might boot to Win10, But it seems Win10 has not started to like me... May it wants to see more to come from me who knows.. Jus kidding.. Lets restart the adventure..
As always, you are most welcome!! I'm glad you still have motivation to get this job done, and that you have not given up. Out of respect for the senior members who were helping you, I will let you converse with them first, before I give you my suggestion. I think that is the prudent thing to do, for both of us, yes? Chaser
Besides, after all this trials and the output from the bcdedit enum all I ask myself a question scratching my head, could this really be a HW problem, If yes then HDD disk or RAM, I count more on RAM. Bcoz my Laapi came with 3GB of RAM initially, and then last year I got the 1GB stick replaced with a 2GB one to get a total 4GB RAM..
It is my humble opinion that your hardware is just fine. IF Windows 8.1 installs completely, and if it runs well 100% without getting BSOD and without crashing from time to time, then I say the hardware you have is fine. It's just a natural, logical conclusion. However, as I said, I could be wrong. You'll never know until you spend the time and effort in obtaining software that will test your memory, and test your HDD. Then and only then, will you know for 100% sure that your hardware is not faulty. Those tests are very time consuming, if you use good programs, so be prepared to spend hours letting them run their course. And you may as well get a program to test your CPU while you're at it. There is a saying that goes like this: "If you're going to do it at all, do it all." Food for thought....... I still do not believe it's a HW problem, but that's just speculation and observation based on what you have said in past posts. Chaser
Untill when I have friend's like you here to help and guide, I am not going to give up. I have always found myself passionate about new technologies, new developments I believe its only this love of mine with my passion that I want to try and try and try again until I reach there
Excellent attitude. If you apply that to all aspects of your life, you will be, or already are, a great achiever!
Besides, I have one another problem with windows system image restore, Since past few days whenever I try to do a System Image Restore, It goes well till searching the System Image on my Ext 2TB HDD but when I press Next, It says something like "Reimage not possible ..bla bla...Please boot from WIndows DVD or from Windows Recovery Drive. .. M little confused, what are requirements to be eligible for doing System Image Restore.
That is odd. You are, in essence, already booting from a Windows DVD, except it's in the form of a USB drive. Same software on both of them. I have never had that happen to me, so I do not have a knowledge base about that, in order to answer your question.... Maybe try a Google search, to see if a solution is to be had for that problem?
Even I hope it's not a H/W issue... but then it lets me keep scratching my head with no answer as to what is creating the issue here... Only problem, I feel like is booting from Win 10 because it did install Win 10 yesterday using the command prompt option Arseny guided, but it didn't boot .. So it neither boots from WIn 10 bootable USB nor from Installed Win 10 in my Lappi HDD, yesterday's case.. Does it point to something ??
Sure I'll do that, But on 2nd priority..Any way I have my entire HDD clean, No data except the Win8 OS and It doesn't take much to get everything to ready state , so will look into that later... Lets come back to our actual problem.... And that is "How to Boot to/from Win 10 TP " on my lappi which loves only Windows 8.1
Yes, it points to something. I interpret your events as being this: You DO have a HW problem, but it is NOT that your HW is faulty, it's just that some part of your HW is not compatible with Win10 TP. Remember that this is just a preview release, and it will not behave the same on all systems. Hopefully the finished product, the RTM will take care of that, but right now, the OS is still in it's infancy.
As I said, out of respect for the senior members, I will wait until they join in at this point, and see what they have to say. If then there is no resolution, I will give you my final option of how I believe you can get Win10 to run on your system. I'll be watching the thread, and your progress.
BTW One thing that we have not tried yet, although I don't have much of hope on that is: I have not tried installing using a bootable DVD. Actually I don't have a blank DVD yet on which I can burn Win10 iso. Again, I feel even if I try that same thing will most likely happen, It wont even boot from the DVD, It will again get stuck on Windows logo.. Moreover, I'm dying to try the option u have kept with yourself... Although I also don't have very high hopes with that after seeing these results but whatever it is I'wd love to give it a try... Moreover, I feel it would be so interesting to see the outcome that comes out of it
It's a deal! I will be unavailable for about the next 3 hours or so, but I'll be back then. Maybe you'll have it installed and running by the time I return? You never know. Talk with you later, then. Chaser
Well, I'm back. I see that you have had no input from any of the senior members in the last 3 hours. Perhaps they are at work, perhaps they are the ones who are leaning against the wall, and watching the overall progress of this adventure of yours. In any event, I'm going to go ahead and give your my final solution as to how you can install and use Windows 10 TP. It was actually contained within the first screenshot of your last post. I looked up the specs of your cpu, and it does support virtualization, so my final solution to you is to get a good Virtual Machine program, and run Win10 as a virtual machine from within your Windows 8.1 install. I realize that it's not the same as booting straight into Windows 10, however in your situation, at least it should be able to let you run it, and experience what it's like to use TP. Mr. Toulan said in his post that he was successful in installing it to a virtual machine, so that gives me hope that you will be able to do it also. There are several good freeware VM programs out there, if you don't already have one. Just do a Google search for the best freeware VM program, and you'll get many results. Choose one that you think you'll like. They are all mostly the same, and easy to use. Well, there you have it, my last ditch effort to get Win10TP up and running on your laptop. I hope it works. Keep us updated, yes? I really have a strong feeling that this will work for you, and it's almost as good as having a separate install. Chaser
"Note: Current File System is MBR and current OS is Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit" With all due respect to the OP, why mess with the bios settings at all? I can't find anywhere where W10TP required any changes to a system already running Win 8.1. I fear they have embarked on a wrong path and won't be able to recover until they have the bios where it was when Win 8.1 was running. I have W10TP installed with a Rufus USB flash drive - two computers with a clean MBR install and one UEFI/GPT upgrade (which took a hell of a long time). At any rate, I hope the OP gets it all going.
