Heres what microsoft is saying about the error code...but i didnt think i needed a slic table present to activate via KMS? Report to come... 0xC004F035 This error code equates to “The Software Protection Service reported that the computer could not be activated with a Volume license product key...” The error text is correct, but is ambiguous. This error indicates that the computer is missing a Windows marker in the BIOS – provided on OEM systems to indicate computers shipping with qualifying editions of Windows, which is a requirement for KMS client activation. Error: Invalid Volume License Key In order to activate, you need to change your product key to a valid Multiple Activation Key (MAK) or Retail key. You must have a qualifying operating system license AND a Volume license Windows 7 upgrade license, or a full license for Windows 7 from a retail source. How unusual. I've never read anywhere that I needed a slic table to activate via kms. The Machine did originally come with a Linux OS so that might explain it. I'll have a play and get back to you if I get stuck. Thank you so much
Hello. I've recently gotten my hands on a CTL 2go ClassMate NL1 netbook (came with Windows XP Professional), but considering that CTL has released drivers for it on Windows 7 (see: ctl.helpserve.com/Knowledgebase/Article/View/244/0/2go-convertible-classmate-nl1---drivers--software-link), and Windows Thin PC would be the perfect OS for the NL1's netbook hardware, I thought I'd try getting Thin PC installed and activated on it. Thin PC installed fine, but when I went to use Microsoft Toolkit 2.4.6 to activate it, I get the same error that andel was getting: Code: ERROR CODE: 0xC004F035 ERROR TEXT: The Software Licensing Service reported that the computer could not be activated with a Volume license product key. Volume-licensed systems require upgrading from a qualifying operating system. Please contact your system administrator or use a different type of key. WARNING: It will be impossible to activate via KMS due to OEM BIOS issues. <Product activation failed> Thanks to the previous posts, I already had an idea what the problem could be, and after generating an MGADIAG report, my suspicions were confirmed: Code: Diagnostic Report (1.9.0027.0): ----------------------------------------- Windows Validation Data--> Validation Code: 0 Cached Online Validation Code: N/A, hr = 0xc004f012 Windows Product Key: *****-*****-K7TQG-66MRP-CQ22C Windows Product Key Hash: nmmU/kLqn/5DFFVtcrEVnanS4Ho= Windows Product ID: 03934-010-0007106-03166 Windows Product ID Type: 1 Windows License Type: KMS Client Windows OS version: 6.1.7601.2.00010140.1.0.065 ID: {68AC2212-999E-4856-8F98-DDC47F09EF20}(3) Is Admin: Yes TestCab: 0x0 LegitcheckControl ActiveX: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Product Name: Windows Embedded Standard Architecture: 0x00000000 Build lab: 7601.win7sp1_rtm.101119-1850 TTS Error: Validation Diagnostic: Resolution Status: N/A Vista WgaER Data--> ThreatID(s): N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Windows XP Notifications Data--> Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 File Exists: No Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WgaTray.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 WgaLogon.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGA Notifications Data--> Cached Result: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Version: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGAExec.exe Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGAAddin.dll Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 OGA Data--> Office Status: 109 N/A OGA Version: N/A, 0x80070002 Signed By: N/A, hr = 0x80070002 Office Diagnostics: B4D0AA8B-543-80070002_025D1FF3-364-80041010_025D1FF3-229-80041010_025D1FF3-230-1_025D1FF3-517-80040154_025D1FF3-237-80040154_025D1FF3-238-2_025D1FF3-244-80070002_025D1FF3-258-3 Browser Data--> Proxy settings: N/A User Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Win32) Default Browser: c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe Download signed ActiveX controls: Prompt Download unsigned ActiveX controls: Disabled Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins: Allowed Initialize and script ActiveX controls not marked as safe: Disabled Allow scripting of Internet Explorer Webbrowser control: Disabled Active scripting: Allowed Script ActiveX controls marked as safe for scripting: Allowed File Scan Data--> File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watadminsvc.exe[Hr = 0x80070003] File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\npwatweb.dll[Hr = 0x80070003] File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watux.exe[Hr = 0x80070003] File Mismatch: C:\Windows\system32\wat\watweb.dll[Hr = 0x80070003] Other data--> Office Details: <GenuineResults><MachineData><UGUID>{68AC2212-999E-4856-8F98-DDC47F09EF20}</UGUID><Version>1.9.0027.0</Version><OS>6.1.7601.2.00010140.1.0.065</OS><Architecture>x32</Architecture><PKey>*****-*****-*****-*****-CQ22C</PKey><PID>03934-010-0007106-03166</PID><PIDType>1</PIDType><SID>S-1-5-21-588577773-82219457-3718733967</SID><SYSTEM><Manufacturer>Intel </Manufacturer><Model>Intel powered classmate PC</Model></SYSTEM><BIOS><Manufacturer>Phoenix </Manufacturer><Version>test BIOS for CTL</Version><SMBIOSVersion major="2" minor="5"/><Date>20090120000000.000000+000</Date></BIOS><HWID>42B80600018400E4</HWID><UserLCID>1009</UserLCID><SystemLCID>0409</SystemLCID><TimeZone>Eastern Standard Time(GMT-05:00)</TimeZone><iJoin>0</iJoin><SBID><stat>3</stat><msppid></msppid><name></name><model></model></SBID><OEM><OEMID>OEMID_</OEMID><OEMTableID>OEMTABLE</OEMTableID></OEM><GANotification/></MachineData><Software><Office><Result>109</Result><Products/><Applications/></Office></Software></GenuineResults> Spsys.log Content: 0x80070002 Licensing Data--> Software licensing service version: 6.1.7600.16385 Name: Windows(R) 7, Embedded edition Description: Windows Operating System - Windows(R) 7, VOLUME_KMSCLIENT channel Activation ID: aa6dd3aa-c2b4-40e2-a544-a6bbb3f5c395 Application ID: 55c92734-d682-4d71-983e-d6ec3f16059f Extended PID: 03934-00206-010-000710-03-4105-7601.0000-2132013 Installation ID: 002885273662540225672916511585735810565184696644325705 Partial Product Key: CQ22C License Status: Initial grace period Time remaining: 40140 minute(s) (27 day(s)) Remaining Windows rearm count: 4 Trusted time: 01/08/2013 9:40:28 AM Please use slmgr.vbs /ato to activate and update KMS client information in order to update values. To be honest, I'm quite a newb when it comes to this area, so I have no idea how to go about modifying the BIOS to conform to OA 2.0 nor do I have any idea how to flash said modified BIOS to the computer either. Any help is appreciated!
Sadly, I don't. It does have the XP Professional Product Key on the back, but I didn't get any recovery media (bought it used). To be honest, I'm not sure if it even originally came with recovery media, since it has no optical drive, although, I guess manufacturers could just include a recovery disk despite that and just tell you to deal with it (do manufacturers distribute USB sticks with such computers nowadays?). Also, before I formatted it to install Windows Thin PC, I saw no recovery partition, so it either never had one to begin with, or the previous owner removed it.
Well, I have personally tested Windows 7 Ultimate on such Intel Atom netbooks & its fine for regular uses.
For me MS Toolkit pseudo activates Embedded and ThinPC, it says its all activated and stuff however Windows restarts like every 10 min.
If I'm not mistaken it seems that KMSAuto Net 1.0.9.1 by Ratiborus can activate Windows Thin PC! Downloading the program and in the "Utilities" tab in the "GVLK Product Keys" window "Windows 7 Embedded Thin PC" option appears. Select this option and click "Install key" ...
