What the hell... Could you just calm down for a bit? Geez! Chill bro! I know OCD is a bitch but take it easy...
I cannot find any reference to this new feature, but it finds optional Windows 10 (probably Windows 11 as well) Cumulative Updates feature which was not available in the previous major version 20.12.2016 or the retired 07.01.2020. Very nice! Not sure what the new checkbox Microsoft update does, I suppose it verifies if Microsoft Update is enabled in settings or Group Policy.
As I expected, the Microsoft Update check box configures the regular Registry under Settings\Update & Security\Windows Update\Advanced Options and not the Group Policy equivalent. While useful, it seems out of place in the GUI among other settings configuring the Group Policy section of the Registry. It is a matter of interface preference after all and it seems to be useful as is because newer implementations of Windows tend to lock the Microsoft Update setting when the Group Policy is configured to Disable WU/MU. Still useful to have the setting available to configure for third party tools like WUMT.
https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1561608/ https://forums.mydigitallife.net/posts/1562992/ yes, it reflect the check box in Advanced Options in Windows 10 (probably 1903 and later) downlevel Windows still need powershell, vbscript or Windows Update panel to activate Microsoft Update
@abbodi1406 I see that you made proposals in relation to the Windows 10 Optional Updates implementation in another thread related to @DavidXanatos competitor software which I followed for a while. I actually realised that the Optional Cumulative Updates - out of band or preview - scanning as in Windows 10 was not implemented before in WUMT after one of your replies to me not so long ago. Very useful insight and references. Thanks. PS Windows 7 MU in GUI has long been discontinued, since IE8 I think. I know about the VBScript and the registry key implementation to force it.
Please remove immemdiatly the offense to my person. I wrote (if the original author of first post etc..). He didn't update the post for a long time and I propose if he didn't update to do it. No reason for you to post a direct offense to my person. Thanks.
Hello, when I try to run this software on Windows XP, I get "wumt.ex is not a valid Win32 application" Is there some special build for XP or what?
