more details please? when i go on Windows Settings-> Windows Update -> the check for updates is active and not disabled ????
Disabling automatic updates does not mean disabling manual update, it's self explanatory, or it is not? I don't see any problems elsewhere!
alzcoew397 No, the problem occurred on both enterprise LTSC and Enterprise IOT LTSC after version 26100.1 To fix it I had to add WMIC to later versions so it works again https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/wmic-pack-for-ltsc-24h2.88383/
i tested in other os so its clearly thet the software has a lot of bugs even on win10 2019 long term support even i choose notification mode it still not works as it should and in displays updates even it installed via the windows update in settings-> for example the KB5039211 would not install via the tool and i went on the windows update in settings, i installed it and even that it stills shows it as a option install in the Windows update mini tool
Does anyone have the 2020 version archived somewhere? The "Windows 10 Exclusive" one? I need it for testing purposes and looks like MajorGeeks were the only ones hosting it.
Does anyone know of a trick to invert the color scheme of WUMT? So, have the background be dark and the text light. Even if it's a hack with a binary editor, as I realize that the program is not likely to be updated.
Microsoft Update and Windows Update are both update services from Microsoft, but they serve different purposes. Windows Update focuses on updating the operating system itself, while Microsoft Update handles updates for other Microsoft software, like Office, but until Office 2016.
Using Windows Update, I keep getting an error when trying to install the latest update - KB5062660. Can this tool help install it? Or is there something else I have to do to get the update to install properly? Currently on 26100.4767.
Next time, listen to advice, you'll be smarter! Error code 0x80240004 often indicates an issue with Windows Update components preventing updates from installing. This can be due to corrupted files, problems with the update service itself, or other conflicts. To resolve it, the best option is to reset your Windows: Settings > System > Recovery > Reset this PC Well, read this again!
Check for ExcludeWUDriversInQualityUpdate value in "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate" or "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX\Settings"
I'm having a problem where Windows Update Mini Tool only finds driver and Defender updates, but no other Windows updates. My system: a freshly installed Windows 10 Enterprise ISO from September 2025. At least KB5066791 from October should be found, but it's not there. I tried letting Windows automatically check for updates as a test, and it showed all the updates.
I've since found the problem myself. Immediately after installing Windows, I paused automatic updates for 7 days under "Windows Update." Based on this, I then disabled automatic updates using WUMT. The 7-day pause must have also affected WUMT, which then couldn't find any updates. I had to temporarily disable my network connection, enable automatic updates, then resume the process in "Windows Update," and then disable automatic updates again. After that, it worked.
