hi, and thanks for the list of update for seven post sp1 I can't extract the file from the archive 7zip<br>please can you verify the file win7-sp1-x86-x64.7z
What version of 7-zip are you using? If it's lower than version 9, then you will need to update to the latest version, this is due to me compressing the update lists using compression method LMZA2 which is supported on later versions of either 7-zip or Winrar. If it's not that, then i suggest you re-download the 7z file again as the downloaded file could be corrupt! PS - I just extracted the files on my laptop with no problem.
Your welcome, there are weblinks above my lists that point to both 7-zip and Winrar pages which you can use to get the latest version.
I am here you know, I do not store the updates or post them, what these lists do, is that they are used in a program called Windows Update Downloader (which you can download from the page you were on), which helps in detecting what is in our homemade lists and helps in downloading the updates that you select. I only wish, that this program would allow installation of the updates as well as downloading them.
I'm running into this too. Tried uninstalling, tried older version, build240, it just opens the web page. Scratch it, I found out why. I was using WinRaR 4.01 to extract the files, when I'd click on them I'd get the "Program has stopped" error. When I used 7zip they worked.
Quick question for you there my man, I'm currently using your update lists from the MSFN forums. Unfortunately my post count won't allow me to add links yet. You did this in a manner that separates x86 and x64. However, here, you have them together. And judging from the date of the update list, the one here seems to be more updated. So I guess my question really is, what should I use?
I guess that is the logical thing to do. I'll try it out now In another note though, the update lists are just 2 or three days apart. I guess I have to check before I start integrating with RT7 Lite Edit - Yup, just checked it out and: 1. They are still separated. They're just compressed in 1 7z file. 2. The UL here is updated.
If it's only 1-2 updates i usually only update the lists here on MDL. The new updates will be included in the next available UL on MSFN, such as next month's patch tuesday (that's if there is any updates! and even if there isn't, i'll still provide the last updated lists such as the ones from here.)
Yes, you can unzip the ulz file which will leave you with a ul file, just double-click on this file and it should open in notepad, revealing the source. But this will only work if you have WUD installed. (Unless you prefer messing with windows to assign this file to open in notepad. It would work this way too.)
You can't, not unless you ask jcarle for the source code, which he is unlikely to do as it is his program. jcarle is on msfn forums. And the lists are not in the exe file, they are loaded into the program by a ulz file.
Thanks for the Windows update lists but what happened to the Office update lists? I tried reading a couple of pages back and there was a quote but it looks like it didn't quote the whole message.
Does this mean everything's going away on the 29th? I sincerely hope that's not the case. I don't think there's another GDR list available. No matter what.... Thanks for providing this service!
No only the WDP Update Lists will be removed, as i'll be getting ready to provide UL's for the Beta build. The other UL's will continue on unaffected!
