I'm afraid I'm still not following. Are the WDP Update lists different than the lists for Windows Updates Downloader? The list I'm interested in , is shown below. Will that project be discontinued?
No it's the same, the only difference is that this list only has critrical, non-critical updates No, i plan to support the Win7 SP1 lists until 3 months after SP2 is released.
Thanks for the updates! One question... I notice you don't include KB2633873 and KB2656356 in your list. Since .NET 3.5 is part of Windows 7, wouldn't it make sense to include these in your Update List?
Used to include .NET3.5 and 4.0 updates for Windows 7, before SP1 came out, but decided to just ditch the .NET updates. I only include the original installer for .NET frameworks now, and let WU detect and install any updates that are available for .NET. I will bring the updates back for .NET 3.5 only, after SP2 has been released!
I have downloaded the Windows Updates Downloader 2.50 Build 1002. I have Windows 7 Service Pack 1x86 ENU (2012-02-15) Update List ready to be downloaded. I am so lost when it comes to understanding any of this, I have really tried but have no idea how to make an intelligent decision about which updates to install. My OS is Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 - activated with HAL The last time I installed updates was August 30, 2011. I have read thru the different threads trying to decide which updates I should not download but am unable to make an intelligent decision. If you know which ones are problematic, I would really appreciate it if you could let me know so i can attempt the very stressful task of updating my system. Thank you for your time. This is the best Windows forum on the web. tina
I am aware that MS is again not providing updates through the download center for Windows 8 CP (WU only). So i will not be providing any UL's for Win8 until MS does provide links on d/l center, which may be in the RC build or the RTM Build.
Thanks, but already know about this, but the thing is, i don't use Windows 8 CP. So unless someone is willing to provide me with the KB artices and the direct links for updating Win8 x86 and x64, there will be no UL's for Windows 8, sorry. But they will also have to keep sending me info on new updates, superseded updates. As i said before, i don't use Win8!
Thanks for the update today! I think you overlooked an 'Important Update' though..... KB2639308 should be added to the list. It supersedes KB2534366
KB2639308 was already in the list, but i just forgot about it being there as well as KB2534366. KB2534366 update has now been removed and thanks for pointing out my mistakes!
About Windows 8 CP (BETA) Update List Please, PLEASE, keep posting Windows 8 CP (BETA)updates on UL format. It's good to have all the updates in one downloadable file at Mediafire (or other file sharing server) but, the UL format is better because the user can see and decide which update to download. In my case, my connection is very slow, so I can't download the file with all the updates, on the other hand, with UL format I can decide which updates I can download and I don't have to download them all. PLEASE, keep the UL format for Windows 8 CP like you do with Windows 7 SP1.

Thanks for your feedback Alexonay, I will look into providing UL's for both x86 and x64 Win8 CP, and release them early next week. Update - The Windows 8 UL's are now available to download, and will be updated once a month.
I finally got around to downloading and working on this month's updates. In the list of Important Updates for Windows 7 x64 (I haven't verified x86) you have both KB2639308 and KB2679255 listed. According to my research, KB2679255 replaces (supersedes) KB2639308.
Thanks, I'll remove KB2601626, but i will not be bothering to provide KB2621146, as both these updates service a program in win7 that most users will never use.
