Seems I've really messed it up now.

I enabled automatic updates, don't think that was a good idea. I can restore the settings to Genuine, but when rebooting the system I get the error msg. about invalid XP again and the Genuine has been replace with VLK error. Ethernet is disconnected, so the problem is resident on the machine.

I have installed a fresh copy of XP on the same volume, but is there any easy way that software and data may be transferred? I don't think so, but is there anything I can do to repair the system?

Or will I have to reinstall everything again under the new system, and export/import email data? Guess it is possible, but I shudder at the thought, believe that will be a lot of work.

Win2k has an option for repair of system but that feature seems to be missing from XP.

Guys, you're just wasting your time. Honestly.
VLK keys, generated keys, etc you simply cannot make a full out of Microsoft.
    Period.
You either get a genuine copy (for God sake is just £99 on their website) or start using Linux...
Avoid eBay, IOffer or any other "cheap sale" websites as you might end up like us:
Approx 2 years ago we bought 11 licenses of OEM WinXP Pro and 4 Office 2007 from a software shop on eBay. We have re-sold them, bona fide, to our customers; unfortunately 2 month ago we had the first complaint/report from a customer saying that his OS is not genuine. Since then we have received/identified 6 more systems - at the same time doing all we can to trace down the remaining 9! The eBay seller? Long time gone...
We have fully refunded any customer that came to us in regard to the above mentioned issue. Our loss? Clients trust, over £2000 inc. labour, time, travel and a huge bag of stress....trust me, it is not worth it.
See, sooner or later it will flag up as a non genuine so stop wasting your time.
    All the best,

Now this is very old - wait for my release to bypass WGA Validation without any crack or patch

validation key for windows xp sp3

i have windows xp sp2 recently upgraded to sp3 using downloads from Microsoft center. after some time, VGA message shows up saying that my copy of windows did not pass validation.
I have validation key as i have original software, but how to insert it ? I tried already steps from genuine validation tool that i find on microsoft forum, but this only works for sp1 and sp2.
does anyone knows how to insert validation key for sp3?

I used the stuff here from the first page and it worked. A few scary moments at first as Windows did not want to boot after updating to SP2. I just re-started twice and everything is fine now. Going on 48 hours and numerous updates. Many thanks!
