Why isn't one of the mods updating the fist post in this topic??? Maybe it would be better to have a regular visitor of these forums to be a mod Don't you agree Suicide Solution?
Yeah, I have been trying to get access to edit this, and the Server 08 thread, but nothing back from the main man in charge yet. I really don't see the need of having to make me a mod just to edit a few threads. I feel its easier to let me recreate those two slp key threads, so I can keep it updated, and retain the old threads as a discussion area for them. Or, just delete them, and let me start over from scratch. Regina is supposed to be back around the 24th, so that is why they havn't been given much attention lately.
confusion with vista oemslp key and vista sp1 oemslp key please tell me can i use windows vista oem sllp key on vista sp2. i m about to download vista + sp2 retail msdn leak from torrent and do not want to use any crack.so please tell me whether the vista oem slp key work with vista with sp2?? even if not with sp2, does vista oemslp key work vista+sp1?? please clarify this doubt too because everytime i first install vista then activate using the oemslp key then install sp1 seperately. this takes time. i have vista with sp1 dvd too, but i fear whether it will be activated by oemslp key of vista??? please help...
The keys work on all service pack levels. Activation also requires a SLP 2.0 bios and matching oem certificate. If your PC came with Vista you are set with just the slp key and oem certificate. If it didnt come with Vista you must request a bios mod from the sticky in this section.
Noob confused back to the -70s Got that, but how about the x86/x64. Is it the same key for both versions? Since I did get the BIOS to work with SLIC from a ASUS i need a fresh install. Problem is that my old key was for a x86 HomePremium and I want an upgrade to x64. Do I need a new key or can I reuse the old one?
Microsoft doesn't differentiate SKUs by architecture anymore. Which means product keys that work for x86 editions, will also work for x64 editions. So yes, you can use your old key (I assume it's OEM:SLP) to activate both Home Premium x86 and Home Premium x64.
I'm back and I see I have missed a lot of new information. Can someone be kind enough to list the new keys that needs to be updated on the first post? Thank you. Yes, I'm feeling a bit lazy. Please excuse my laziness.
hmm so i am havin troubles with a new gateway machine. thought i would format it and put ultimate on via this thread using gateway cert and ultimate key. even after injecting and restarting several times I still show 30 days remaining. did i do something wrong? i tried different combos of injecting cert first then the key..and the other way around. thanks in advance! also if it helps it was a MSDN SP2 Vista disc. but sp2 shouldnt matter
Did you buy it with vista on it?? Use the HWDirect , ACPIScope, or everest to see which SLic you have in the bios.
yup its a vista machine. just bought yesterday. in everest the SLIC info says OEM ID: ACRSYS does that mean Acer? i know gateway, emachines, acer are same company
