I think Widows vista will be Windows 7 with sp3 patch. So vista users will cross to windows 7 without paying. What do u think so?

Much more profitable to call it a different version and charge a full price all over again rather than to refine last years version and give the advances away for free.

    Example:

Windows 95 updated and called Windows 95 Plus

Windows 98.. fix a lot of bugs and resold as Windows 98 SE, add some custom themes and resold as Windows 98 SE Plus, ..then add USB support and system restore and then call it Windows Me and resell it again

Windows 2000: we add a smurf village theme and other refinements, call it Windows XP and resell

Windows Vista ..we rush this out,,fix some bugs and add some stuff we should have to start with, and call it Windows 7

you are right to a point, yes 7 is largely based on the 6.0 code. Much the same way server 2003, and XP were based on the 5.0 code from 2000. However refinements and enhancements over the previous code are made and it is a new version. This is not new Apple does the same thing, they add some new features and enhancements then call it a new release, but instead of Microsoft they keep the major version the same and only change the minor version. Which MS has started to do now.

And i can add these thins, vista has different versions like premium, busines, ultimate etc, vindows 7 also has..! Windows7 use the same drivers like vista too..! As a result Windows vista=Windows7. I just hope it will be free to vista users, If Bill Gates still want to make money, vista would be the end of Microsoft.

Just my tuppence worth, please don't start one of these threads where it goes on for months and at the end of the day a waste of time like say how will windows 7 activation we will never know till we get to RTM ok for beta testing but personally what the point of installing i,e running at normal installing all your software then start crying when time limit is up :D if it is still beta use it as beta for testing only.

U r so clever Urie. U can see the end of the thread, congratulations. I use win7 beta is true. The forum waste time with unofficial release of win7 for example 7048. I'll never start a thread any more. R u happy now?

Maybe starting a thread with an honest question that has some reasonable chance of a fact based answer would be nice:D
These hypothetical questions, seemingly being asked just to take up space are aggravating. I'm with Urie and happy doesn't even begin to describe...:D:cool::eek:
