DKane come back DKane come back please and start a new thread with updated instructions for win7 x86 and x64 AIO. Alot of people are adding their suggestions and it is becoming convoluted. Also, your link to the new lunch command is dead. You could maybe included in your new thread? I'm sure many people would appreciate it. Thanks. This is my first post so I was not able to PM you directly. PS What file(s) can I hex edit to make the install screen show 32b & 64b instead of x86 & x64 under the architecture heading? PPS Please include the steps to use if one has already downloaded the latest Win7 SP1 files directly from digitalriver. Thanks again.
repost lunch command Hello everybody, Just in case DKane doesn't see my previous post for a long time, can someone repost his lunch command? The link that he gave is not working anymore. Thanks.
How is he supposed to check this out? Did you click the link yourself? "A7Toolkit download link removed due to Fixing/Rebuilding/Updating!!!"
I could swear I read that all versions will fit on a 4GB USB Drive..It will not. The .iso is 4.06GB when completed and obviously doesn't fit on a 4GB USB...If I take out Starter how much would that reduce it? I want to use a 4 GB if possible. It works on an 8GB so my son did it correctly. I even omitted the Enterprise version..Need just a little more space. Thanks.
i followed this advice from DKane to the letter and it don't work?? i get all the first bit done o.k no problem, done the wims building o.k no problem?? but for the life of riley, wallace and gromit and whatever ?? cannot get anything on the bcd edit stage where you got to get the guid number to change it or whatever?? it just pops up with the same message every time a description for the new entry must be specified?? and i put in the command with admins rights, bcdedit /store boot\bcd /copy {default} /E "x64 Recovery Mode" but changed the D to an E where my AIO folder etc is?? so what is the issue?? can anyone explain or tell me :-/ thanks
The issue is that you changed the /d to a /E. The /d indicates that a description for the new entry will follow, it is not the directory. You have already navigated to the correct folder and are running the commands from there. The /d "x64 Recovery Mode" sets the description for the new entry. /E "x64 Recovery Mode" means nothing
2percent, thank you for your answer and yes, i did find out myself after trying a heck of a load of ways, but thank you very much for your help on this anyway, i completed the rest of the dvd and now have a file that is nearly 7 gig to burn to dvd!!! now that i don't know if it is correct or no but i will post back if i am successful
autorun.inf when it says to modify the autorun.inf file do i add what it say's to add to the autorun.inf file with whats already in there?? thanks for any help
Yes, just edit the current autorun.inf. If use lunch file in sources need not edit autorun and create setup64 only alter the autorun.dll in sources to point to "lunch.exe".
thank you zbteck for your reply, much appreciated my friend, and acrsn, many thanks for your link to the aio builder !!! this what makes this forum great, the wonderful helpful people they have here to do just that!!!! i downloaded the AIO builder, and cannot work out what it means when it says to load x86 folder and x64 folder?? as there are quite a lot of folders to choose from??? and also i have tried and followed DKane's method of creating this windows 7 AIO, and there is no way that it works or at least for me it does not. and those who say it worked first time of asking, well i would like to know how you done it from scratch?? because i have followed ( even asked you good peeps on questions and advice) but still the method that started this thread, don't seem logical to create this windows AIO disk?? as when i load the DVD that i created with the method that made this, all that comes up for me is to load windows 7, without any other option to load any other windows 7 x86 or x64 version. so although DKane said it worked for him, and as others have said as well, i personally think that this tutorial or whatever it is called to be able to create this windows 7 AIO dvd, is missing some major points and needs updating fully to let others know how to do this properly
Found these instructions in German on Sardu's forum www dot sarducd dot it Look in the German forum for a topic with "Windows 7 AIO handmade" in the title. It is almost an exact copy of Dkane's instructions but on one page and more recent. Use google translate to read it in English.
Update to previous post The information has now been translated into Engish by the author and posted in the English Forum. The instructions are on one page. I myself have not posted enough on this forum to be allowed to use direct links. Find it at "www dot sarducd dot it". Hope that helps.
I'm really sorry guys, life got in the way. I'm really glad so many people got use out of my dicking around with modding W7 ISOs, and I hope to have the time to update the OP later this week, if not today. It's just going to take a while to go through and find all the changes suggested, etc., 'cause I left it too long.
