Hello. Now that MS has ended support for Windows XP, you'd think you no longer need to activate the product. But no, activation and WGA are still here, even though Microsoft said that they will likely remove them. From the archived Windows Activation FAQ: So, why is activation still here, even though support is over and MS may take down the activation servers any time?
because some companies are still paying bazillions of dollars to have longer support for Xp. That is my guess anyway.
I just used windows update for an XP machine..downloaded and installed about 20 hotfixes and one nag screen that says they "ended support , click here to blah blah blah"
When was the last time it was updated? The end of support nag was released in exactly one month before the end of support.
did a reinstall on a dell with an old dell pre sp1 disk.. it's what he wanted installed. I had an iso of xp updates and service packs , just didn't have all updates to EOS..
Very well. May I ask you how did you create an ISO with updates only? Do you just download the MSUs and EXEs and put them on a disc?
