BINGO!!! this is exactly the argument. This site is based on proof of concept, that is what started the various SLIC addition methods..It wasn't to get free Vista, but to see if we could do it consistently (add SLIC code to bios)....The WOW loader was simply a concept that came to fruition as are Andy's tools that were just talk for a month or so.. I would like to see a tool to accomplish this. The method is somewhat clear, the coding is the challenge now..
That would be most likely impossible, as the memory would be in most mobos not writable, some could work, most would not. Anybody trying to write such tool would do nothing else but constantly deal with other users "problems". Suicidal mission! Use OEM with DMI & be done with it sebus
XP Boot loader for real hardware For AMD based systems should be no problem. For Intel one has to build and maintain chipset DB or work on request. The source code for Intel should be the same as for VMWare. Advantages of the loader are clear: no BIOS (DMA) editing, custom SLP strings and etc. But as one stated before who cares if there are other working solutions.
