    Hi,
I am new to this, so sorry for beeing newb ;)

So I have an older laptop with OEM-Key on the back (sticker). It came with a recovery CD which I still have, but its way outdated and branded with a whole lot of crap software from 2006. Encarter anyone?

I found this thread and am downloading an ISO right now. The plan ist to change it to an OEM SLP CD with my OEM-Key as described in the thread: "How To Create PRO OEM SLP CD"

Now to my question. The How To says I can use an VLK ISO to achive this. This thread here is titled as "Windows XP Professional with SP3 VL" - Notice the missing "K".
So can I still convert ISOs from this thread to use my own OEM-Key?

My OEM keys and my retail key didn't work on this :(

How can I even install this? :(

Well VL means volume license and VLK means volume license key. So, the edition is VL which uses VLK. Yes u can use the process to create an OEM:SLP cd. But remember that ur key may be an OEM:COA key. For SLP activation, u should use the OEM:SLP key described in the process..

    ;)

Ok. According to "Differences Between OEM Channel SLP, NONSLP and COA License Product Keys" by MDL (sorry cant link because I have jet to make 5 posts^^) I will propably have an COA Key.

So I just finished baking myself an OEM SLP CD as described in the How To. Will tell if it worked, but this will be not befor later this evening.

    Thx sofar.

Quick search on the hash gives you:

vlk corporate - windows xp professional with service pack 3 (x86) - cd (english)
    en_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86_cd_vl_x14-73974.iso
    size=589.14

    sha1:66ac289ae27724c5ae17139227cbe78c01eefe40
    iso/crc:ffffffff

So it is VL & not retail MSDN

The links for es_windows_xp_professional_with_service_pack_3_x86 _cd_vl_x14-74009.iso not working.
Could you upload the links again (Megaupload, Fileserve, Hotfile or Filefactory)?
    Thanks you.
