Hi i've Just installed MSDN Windows XP Pro VL x86 ISO on Virtual Box, Found a Working key on the internet.. The ISO i downloaded from WZorNET Twitter Torrent Magnet link and i want Service Pack 1 x86 September 9th 2002 MSDN Hologram CD Copy. Service Pack 2 x86 August 4th 2004 MSDN CD Hologram Copy is it on MDL Forums from an Official Legit Source?
I have a problem with the legacy update or something else idk yet but every update on fresh pro vl install that include any framework updates are falling to install.. interesting.. Also is the WAG still necessary to have installed ? every other update seems to install and work fine.. Update : it just fixed itself... stranger things huh..
That said, now that the XP update patch server Microsoft has shut down, is there any way to update XP normally?
I haven't used a copy of Xp that needed updates for a while. You used to be able to overwhelm and effectively Bipass the Windows WAG Check with 2 lines of very simple code in a batch file. it wasn't the most efficient or elegant way of doing it but it was pretty damn funny given the enormous amount of money they spent designing that anti piracy system.
It's the first time I heard that such an ancient system as XP can integrate TLS1.2 protocol, so the question is, how to integrate TLS1.2 on XP?
You may need this. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/restore-windows-update-for-windows-xp-server-2003.82538/
I've found to have saved on my pc 2.5G of XP SP3 windows update from 2013 to 2017 dont' konw if anybody could be interested.
Surely nobody would run these obsolete OS's for anything remotely close to production? I get that somebody "might" need an old OS for some very obsolete hardware (that never got updated drivers etc), but still works for its purpose (whatever it might be) But that would be fully offline, so updates are of zero importance
Define production... It's still plenty of CNC machines and other industrial uses that relies even on DOS or Win9x, let alone XP. But aside the strict meaning of "production" related to industrial uses, having fun using an OS one likes for purposes different than a quick test IS production. And given most of modern threats are targeted to current OS,at least for average joes, practically is likely more safe a 25 years old OS, than a one currently sold even if connected to the web. Security by rarity is something that works in IT just like in the real life
the only obsolete thing here is your brain. if you don't use or like XP at all get a life and move on as nobody here will miss you I'm tired of clowns who think XP must be used exclusively offline with early 2000's hardware only
Nobody seems to actually think they should use XP to browse the web in 2024, do their banking, pay their taxes or shop on Amazon. Certainly if they did, they would realize very quickly that just getting to the web nowadays is a hassle on XP, you need to use particular browsers and jump through hoops to surf the web. But, if even after all of that they decide to do it, let them. People knowingly do all kinds of weird things that are detrimental to themselves, and most of the people I read online that are installing XP appear to know what they are getting into. A lot of people that are installing these old OSes seem to want to do it out of nostalgia, to run some weird piece of software that only works on old OSes, game, or they just want to see what happens. Let these guys have their fun.
