In case of Windows Update, it has probably stopped updating because it is no longer supported by Microsoft. Thus, no more Updates for XP (except some Embedded variants).

You are running the English version Windows XP? It seems the Simplified Chinese version Windows XP can't get updates after 2016/02/09.
windows xp has dead already. is there any way i could find a repository mirror that hosts updates for xp? by googling alone, i came to stumble upon xp hotfix list Code: xdot tk but there's about 70% of those hotfixes are no longer hosted by microsoft website and i'm completely lost now. help me if any of u just could. pm me personally or email me @ Code: palohrawa @ gmail dot com
Look for and download WSUS offline update 9.2.1 and use it to download XP updates direct from microsoft . Then find the POS ready reg file in the net and apply it to your system . Then those updates will install . EDIT ...... WSUS offline update 9.2.1 ---- > download.wsusoffline.net/ Its on the right hand side about half way down . It was the last version that downloads XP updates . And The POS Ready reg file plus info ---- > pcworld.com/article/2310301/windows-xp-registry-hack-keeps-the-security-updates-rolling.html
It may be dead but you can still get the updates. Just do a clean install and then try windows update. I will update. Then use the .reg hack posted by case-sensitive above to get more updates. I just did this last month and works fine.
is there an effective way to solve high CPU usage in svchost.exe caused by Windows Update in a clean install of Windows XP SP3 ?
it only started to happens recently that's why i'm asking if somebody know a fix. because the same issue is also present in Windows 7 and 8.x, and can be easily fixed installing 2 updates manually, but for XP can't find any fix yet.
