For completeness: As you can see in cnlic's list above, kb4487085-v2 was released last week, it replaced the buggy "v1" version of kb4487085. I had no problems with v2.
Yes, the RyanVM board is the way to go. All the info is there (based on the great OnePiece packs, excellent because they're fully localized, so not en-US only), but I doubt if it's worth all the effort (for a first-time user) for just a few months of updates left.
I'm using OnePiece packs with mixed results. The english version works perfectly, the pt-pt complains about missing files. I'm just asking you that because the end of XP is near and I work at a computer repair shop and still have old specialized machines on costumers that run XP. I was thinking about building a final XP iso with all updates ever launched, including the POSReady updates for easy deployment if needed and I was trying to gather as much information as possible (needed updates, install order, registry mods) and test everything on a virtual machine. The RyanVM board is mostly dead by now and I highly doubt that there will be a newer update pack, there's only you there and the information is getting outdated with dead links.
Handy. I'll keep that in mind, glad someone is working on compiling the updates for XP. I'll have to see if I can slipstream them in nLite, otherwise I could just run the pack.
RIP Windows XP, We will miss you. XP was the system that I used when I got my first computer and I used it 10 years long! (naturally I skipped Vista and jumped directly to Windows 7 on a then new PC)
There are reports on MSFN that KB4494528 causes issues with Windows Installer. Running "regsvr32 MSI.DLL" after installing the update should fix those issues
I'm working on something for vista and xp, to learn something new and maybe share a useful script, but it's not easy because of my limited time. @Atari800XL , I can't find your list of POS updates
A final update pack including all updates until May 2019 for Windows XP has been released. Visit the Windows XP Unofficial SP4 forum at RyanVM.net for further details.
Is it possible for it to be slipstreamed via nLite, or do I have to use another way to slipstream this into my SP3 Disc?
