Well, the OGA tool just installed on my Vista box which is 100% legit ( both vista and office, from my now-lapsed MSDN subscription ) and it's not complaining about anything. Not had the nerve to try it on my win7 box yet My win7 x64 box is non-legit bios-mod + OEM:SLP, but with the same legit office ( I had to do a telephone activation. ) Not sure if OGA is also doing some WGA at the same time... -- SC
Hmmmm, strange... I have ran Windows Update a few minutes ago and the OGA-Update did not appear... The same with the language packs... Only updates for the Security Essentials BETA and a compatibility update for IE 8.
So Windows 7 hasn't received the update. If anyone needs a key for Office and its an emergency pm me.
Okay, i understand. No Win7 so far... Maybe on 22nd of October. I have added the two hosts in my hosts file, i hope, it doesn´t exclude the other, system-based Windows Updates. Thanks for the hints!
It's not offered on my win7 system either, but at the moment I'm only hitting *windows* update, not *microsoft* update. They are different. The office updates only appear when you elect to subscribe to *microsoft* update. ( Select to receive updates for other MS products ). -- SC
A regkey ey? Even better. Maybe we could have some minihack that always loads that when Office is launched. Btw no OGA for Win7 x64 yet.
Meh not bothered if it detects my office as I will just switch to open office How does one know if this detects a non genuine version?
Too funny... MS gets a court ruling denying them the ability to sell Office in the United States...so what does MS do? They release a genuine advantage validation patch for office to try to get people who have pirated it (or who have gotten counterfeit versions somehow) to buy it, even though they cant if they live in the States, like myself. WOW! Genius move...
I've found that simply deleting OGAAddin.dll in C:\Windows\system32 will cause the plugin to be inactive and thus unable to be loaded. However, the system is still unable to validate on the official MS OGA page. The supremophantom.blogspot.com page looks to be excellent for this.
