WindSLIC does not work with Gigabyte Hybrid EFI Technology. I've enabled EFI boot in the BIOS, and I have installed WindSLIC using the manual method, but it does not activate. I suppose it's Gigabyte's fault (this hybrid efi thing is really crappy), but could it be possible to make it work somehow??
Install.bat worked perfectly first time! Thanks a million Nononsence, for a while I thought I was going to have to abandon UEFI to keep the Daz Activator working. I've set WindSLIC as boot option #1 and disabled all other boot options. So far so good. I'll install SP1 next. Question: Can I use Windows Updater without any worries or must I watch out for a particular update (like the kb970133 one has to avoid with the Daz activator)? (PS: I know nothing about computers, I just read the forums and follow the guides given) UPDATE (26 july 2012): I've now re-installed Windows 7 Ultimatex64 with SP1 slipstreamed. I ran install.bat and it worked perfectly. Thanks.
Hello all, been reading this thread thru n thru for a while now, am in the process of building an [h=1]ASUS Crosshair V Formula/Thunderbolt AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS[/h]with FX8150 amd processor and plan on using win7 64bit ultimate, am wondering if your injector will be the thing I need to have it activated and good to go with little or hopefully no problems. thing i wanted to know is if I can update the bios first, or wait till after I use the injector, will be my first time seeing this new bios type and all of nononsence posts seem to be quite legit on getting everything to work. Just giving a heads up and thanks in advance as to what I will be putting together and hopefully with no problems. thanks
nononsence please help. I install this on my new lenovo z480 and didn't work. So i decided to change back to mbr and will format my hdd. But when i wanted to enter bios by pressing F2, it just pass into windows startup. I tried so many times but it wont enter bios. By pressing f12 i can go to boot manager, from there, there was option to enter bios but now its gone too. I dont know anything about uefi so i dont know what to do. i think i am screwed. Is there anything that i can do to make it back like it was??
WindSLIC does not modify the BIOS, So I do not know what the problem is in your case. There is usually better options for OEM machines than using an injector. good luck. EDIT: if you put a disk in the optical drive you may slow the boot process down enough to have the key presses read, or you can try an external key board.
Have you checked your BIOS version? it was problem with it.. check lenovo website for new one. You will have to disconnect hdd, reboot computer, shutdown. Connect hdd again and upgrade bios with new one from desktop. reboot. reformat hdd with option mbr and install OS hope it helps
thanks evryone, i did a little researching and found a lot of people have same problem with uefi boot enabled. I guess it is UEFI that causing problem. I triend to find bios update for my lenovo but didn't find one. It is a new release notebook so i guess it will take a while for an update to show up. I'll try lenovo service center, hope they can help.
Thanks, works like a charm! I got the 6-16 version, ran install as admin, restarted, and viola! Can't express my gratitude in words!
Confirmed not working on Intel DH55TC, 30 days til activation. I didn´t use the files from the github as I haven´t got a clue how to compile them... Cheers. Edit: Nevermind, used a bios mod tool to insert the slic in the bios, after a reboot activated with daz loader. Took only a second.
Yes, it is only in the source repo. EDIT: I attached the test version I am using (Acer SLIC). install as follows: mount efi partition rename "/efi/microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.efi" to "/efi/microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.bak" rename & copy the WindSLIC bootx64.efi file to "/efi/microsoft/boot/bootmgfw.efi"
