Just wanted to pop in and say thank you! This worked nice and easy. This machine has a SATA3 SSD and a 3TB HDD, so I really wanted to keep it in EFI mode to take advantage of that. I downloaded the Release zip, ran the bat file as administrator and rebooted. Windows is now activated Edit: MSI Z77A-G43 Ivy Bridge
Thanks Tito! Just decompress the "Release_06-16-2012.zip" and run "install.bat" as ADMINISTRATOR. Then reboot and you are Activated!!!! Easy as pie. If only installing Win7/64 onto a bootable GPT partition had been this easy. That took me a while to get working. But absolutely no problems activating from a GPT partition with your method and files. Thank you so much.
Bummer, I spoke to soon. It will activate Win7/64 but it won't stay activated. When I reboot again, I lose my activation. I'm running an Asrock Extreme 4, with AMI UEFI bios and a 3Tb GPT boot drive. Any ideas why it doesn't stick? Or what I could try next?
Firstly, nononsence is the creator of this... not me. You have to put WindSLIC as the first boot entry. Post an MGADIAG report for diagnosis.
Thanks for this awesome tool! But I have some problems. First, the batch file installation doesnt work(german win7 prof x64). Second the manual installation doesnt work too for me... :/ I followed exact your Steps. Maybe someone could do a Youtube Tutorial? Thanks
Felt like adding my success. I first tried the manual way. That didn't work. Probably because I didn't have the key and certificate..... Tried the GUI twice, but no success. Used uninstall.bat Tried install.bat twice. Now it's working! Thanks for the great work.
it's WORK. Thank you ALL. I can use my 1 TB hard disk and had partition on it. Almost hopeless once i cannot use Windows Loader and need to Re Install as SINGLE MBR partition.
Double SLIC Hello, I have a Lenovo branded ThinkPad laptop, and I have not had success with this utility. The EFI loader is correctly installed and booted from, and the SLIC is inserted successfully. However, my copy of Windows remains unactivated. I checked my serial, SLIC, and certificate with another tool, and they were all correct. However, upon examining the ACPI tables with AIDA64, it appears that I now have TWO SLIC entries. The first is the inserted Acer table (at 0x78FDCD5C), and the second is the original Lenovo one (at 0x78FFD000). I suspect that Windows is only reading the last table. Is there any way to work around this? Thanks
Is the original SLIC you found is 2.1 ? If yes, i don't think you have to install WindSLIC at all..Simply uninstall it and use Windows Anytime Upgrade to upgrade your Windows 7 system to desired version by entering the correct OEM serial. It is enough.
Hi There, I am getting a WINDSLIC boot entry not found error when running the install.bat. Anyone know what's causing this? View attachment 21962
