This injector is not a biosmod so you bios is actually untouched. Just format your HDD and your good to go.

    Hello everybody!

How do I exactly use this to activate my Windows 7 Ultimate x64 installation on a GPT partitioned drive?
Since the automatic installation seems not to be working with a significant number of users I decided to go manual, but the instructions are't very clear!
I know I'll have to open a command prompt window with administrative privileges but, apart from that, I'm not very certain of what should I do...

Can someone help this newbie here?!

    @jmf11

Exactly so. Remember to check RW report to verify the presence of the emulated SLIC.

Tito, Thanks for your answer. So I know what to do now. However, I'm not clear about what you mean by the RW report. What is meant here by "RW" ? I should have this report after typing a command or from the Windslic installer ?

I'm sorry to bother you with my questions... But I would really prefer to do it OK from my first attempt.

    Regards

    JM

Humm, tonight is my homework time to activate my Windows 7 Ultimate.

I tried to run Installer_EFI_gui, but all buttons are grayed... So I have to close the window.

Then I tried to run Installer_EFI_cli and... seems that nothing happens: no windo, no message, nothing...

I launched RW, and it says OEM ID = Alaska rev 0x02 - ACPI 2.0

I have rebooted, and... same result with RW.

Am I doing something wrong ?

If using the installer(s), is there something to do with BOOTX64.EFI ?
    Regards,

    JMF

So... I don't understand why, but Windows 7 is now activated...

I prepared all the stuff to do a manual install. But at the very beginning, the command mountvol v: \s failed. I googled a bit and found that that one possible cause was not to have a UEFI partition.

I used diskmgr.msc, and I had a 100 Mo NTFS partition, which seems to mean no UEFI. However I have a graphical BIOS interface which in my mind meant that I was in UEFI "mode". The last Windows 7install was done from an USB key, and not from a DVD. Doest it changes something ?

I tried (again) then Daz loader... and it worked.

In the bios set up, boot is set to [Legacy+UEFI], and GO2BIOS disabled.

So clearly I don't know enough about those UEFI things :-( ... but it seems to work now. So maybe I have a MBR... and I don't know what I loose not to have "GPT" partitions...

I think that I'll apply the "don't try to fix something that works" concept, and keep it as it is.

Thanks a lot for the support.

    Kind regards,

    JMF

Having a UEFI firmware doesn't necessarily mean the OS had been installed in UEFI native mode. Almost all UEFI firmware allows to run in a legacy/compatibility mode (CSM). Seems your OS has been installed that way and thus you have an MBR-initialized HDD.

What I've got: Dell laptop, clean W7 x64 on a GPT drive installed, booting in UEFI mode.

    What I've tried:
    1. Run gui installer, install Acer
    2. Run Acer key installer
    3. Reboot - no activation, shows 3 days of trial left
    4. Reboot into the new efi bootloader that appears after running the installer - no activation, shows 3 days of trial left
    5. Boot with bootx64.efi from archive after running bcdedit to point at it - no boot, added a boot entry to use the old bootloader and restored the windows boot manager. Obviously, no activation.

Any ideas what I could be doing wrong? I would like to avoid BIOS modding if at all possible.

What phoenixtool shows about the BIOS.cap:

Hi everyone, I'm not very good at cracking or modding bioses, but I'd like to remove the WindSlic, it shows up in the bios boot selection. I can't find it in the partition manager, I also tried to flash the bios to the newer version but the slic still remain. I have a Sabertooth 990FX, can someone help me please? Thanks

Then you need to recreate it to boot to Windows.
