    Hello.

    I tried to do the procedure, but always appears as "access denied" here, so I can not copy the file BOOT * for EFI partition. How should I proceed?

    Thanks very much.

    The laptop will no longer start after using this utility (asus X551MA)... It just freeze in BIOS. I did everything by procedure, no key combo works, not even setup, nothing.

    If I let the battery drain completely will this fix it? Or does the CMOS battery last longer? What modifications does this application make?

    The laptop is now stuck on the ASUS splash screen and nothing works...bricked totally. If it doesn't flash the BIOS then what could have caused this?

    Same problem as him a few pages ago. Please help. It's not even my laptop, I was asked to reinstall Windows on it... I have to fix it somehow :(

    Complete newbie here. Be kind :biggrin:

    I have a dual boot Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and Ubuntu 14.04 system with UEFI. Before using the WindSLIC-UEFI-SLIC-injector, my PC would boot into the GRUB menu where I could see both the systems and choose one. Of course Windows wan't activated at this point of time. So I grabbed the WindSLIC tool and installed the certs - the whole thing went like a charm :rolleyes:

    Now when I boot the system however, the system boots directly into Windows. Figured out that I had the following entries in the BootLoader:

    There are a total of 6 entries listed in the bootloader.

    Default: Windows 7
    Timeout: 30 seconds
    EasyBCD Boot Device: C:\

    Entry #1
    Name: WindSLIC
    BCD ID: {83a75ce3-3b55-11e4-a7e5-806e6f6e6963}
    Device: \Device\HarddiskVolume1
    Bootloader Path: \EFI\2c9e3c6c9c53fc5634218e87b1479244\BOOTX64.EFI

    Entry #2
    Name: ubuntu
    BCD ID: {ea664f60-3b30-11e4-aba7-806e6f6e6963}
    Device: \Device\HarddiskVolume1
    Bootloader Path: \EFI\ubuntu\shimx64.efi

    Entry #3
    Name: CD/DVD Drive
    BCD ID: {2ff6926b-3b6c-11e4-9ac8-f968f5b49185}
    Device: Unknown
    Bootloader Path:

    Entry #4
    Name: ubuntu
    BCD ID: {647de05d-3aff-11e4-9c17-806e6f6e6963}
    Device: \Device\HarddiskVolume1
    Bootloader Path: \EFI\Ubuntu\grubx64.efi

    Entry #5
    Name: Hard Drive
    BCD ID: {2ff6926c-3b6c-11e4-9ac8-f968f5b49185}
    Device: Unknown
    Bootloader Path:

    Entry #6
    Name: Windows 7
    BCD ID: {current}
    Drive: C:\
    Bootloader Path: \Windows\system32\winload.efi

    If I select the Entry #2 (shimx64.efi) I get the GRUB menu back but when I boot into Windows, it shows that the copy is not activated! :g::g:

    How can get the GRUB menu as well as boot into an activated Windows?

    @BumbleI3ee

    Install Grub Customizer & edit Windows Boot Manager path by including BOOTX64.efi in place of winload.efi.

    hi Tito,

    Thanks for your reply. This might appear really silly, but I could not boot into Windows 7 using the BOOTX64.efi file. The system refused to recognize the path \EFI\2c9e3c6c9c53fc5634218e87b1479244\BOOTX64.EFI which I think is correct. I somehow need to modify the Windows BootLoader but I'm clearly struggling with it. My bad!

    Could you please help me with details of the steps required to correct this?

    Hi.

    Can anyone help me activate my Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit step by step? I'm working with a UEFI/GPT system. I tried to follow the steps in one of the forums but it just won't work. I have an HP 14-d007tx laptop, and already installed several programs/software and really would not like to go through all that
    reformatting/reintall again.

    Personally, I'd like to try the SLIC injector method. I'm not an advanced user so I would really appreciate an easy-to-follow tutorial.

    Thanks.

    Afaik the tool only changes the boot sequence what can be problematic if it fails in a secure boot environment. There are no changes applied to BIOS/UEFI.

    In case you have access to BIOS/UEFI change boot sequence to boot from DVD or USB, re-connect the HDD, boot from Install Media and perform a Startup-Repair.

    I would opt for Pro or Enterprise which can be activated by KMS tools like Microsoft Toolkit :cool2:.
