I have a general understanding of function of Winsxs but why would it have entries on a base W7 SP1 install? Aren't all Dlls and Exes, for base system, recreated for the service pack and include only current versions of objects? If so, then Winsxs entries are a curiosity? And more importantly, how will Winsxs ever have size reduced? Wait til Windows 8???
