use SSV3 method, tick Ignore checksum and 80h warnings for your extended bootblock bad checksum. be sure you have ticked third option in ADVANCED : Replace 1B module mod and flash @ Tank878, why you use SLIC DELL_PE_SC3.BIN, you can use DELL SLIC 2.1 in folder () just an user of andy's tools not guru
Unfortunately that doesn't make a lot of sense. The Ignore Checksum setting is to override AMITool in case the checksum condition is causing AMITool itself to fail. The AMITool isn't failing. Meanwhile Replace 1B is for Dynamic mode. Since you'd be using SSV3, you obviously aren't using Dynamic mode.
Uh! have you seen for this thread dynamic !? yeah i have tried to mod this bios SSV2 method has a problem with space insert , SSV3 + MMtool, replace 1B module and ignore Checksum mod the bios, sense or not
Hi Yaluza, i'm a little confused with your post, but i have tried SSV3 + MMtool with the "replace 1B" setting with no success. i havn't tried the "ignore checksum and 80h warning" setting as i wouldn't think it will have any affect because amitool is reporting no errors/warnings (please correct me if im wrong). I have tried every .bin file imaginable and have modded other pc's fine so i dont believe the .bin file is the problem in this case.
Hi, I'm having the same problem. I can't activate my ASUS G50v laptop. I did modifed the lastest available bios by following all the given steps. I wasn't able to activate my Windows version (RTM w/o any loader nor crack installed). Some members of the forum also patched the BIOS to be "SLIC 2.1" compliant (thanks again mates) but this neither worked.... I don't know what's going wrong here.... BR
ok i modded the U1EAS and the M51VAAS, Flash at your own risk: - Links removed, dont work ;> - Tell me if they work Crap, forgot to add, both Dell SLIC
That's depend wich version of Amitools you use also, you can try SSV3 dynamic method , and tick three options in advanced, i have mod mine with settings. remove lock replace fc module replace 1B module SLIC2.1 DELL SLP DELL edit : here i say dynamic options lol
just out of curiosity, seeing slic 2.1 is backward compatible with slic 2.0 after flashing to 2.1 is vista still activated (with coresponding cert)? if it is then there is something else wrong other than the slic. i had zero problems with my m50vm and on my other drive i have vista installed and after changing my asus cert for the dell, it stays activated
So the problem all along was the flash utility not properly doing what you expect it to do, not the mods themselves, huh. y'know, I vaguely remembered when I flashed a SLIC2.0 mod to my asus board years ago, I think I upgraded to a newer release of stock bios and the SLIC survived somehow, using some combination of options (or maybe it was the defaults of using the usual tool and NOT telling it to overwrite the whole thing)
Hmm interesting, can you elaborate on this "aflash /all" command? I use aflash2.exe with my asus m51va notebook. Do you know if this "/all" is used with aflash2? It still makes me wonder because all the mods i've tried all apear to have the correct 2.1 slic.
