could sb maybe explain in two senctences what this does? checked the original thread and that does not really explain what it does just that it is a feature ported from windows server thanks
Just tried on Win10.10049 - answer is no. But I installed it on 9926 and it worked, then update broke it. windows server tp 2 / 10074 is out now -- given that the win10 client is also 10074, this should be an ideal match. Anyone fancy building the cabs? You might find it easier to pull things out of the NanoServer packages folder in the root of the ISO instead of tinkering with winsxs. Everything appears to be in the "storage" package cab.

So I'll leave them there and hope it will increase compatibility with next build. Taken from en_windows_server_technical_preview_2_x64_dvd_6651466.iso and tested with clean installs of en_windows_10_enterprise_insider_preview_10074_x64_dvd_6651209.iso and sv_windows_10_pro_insider_preview_10074_x64_dvd_6651145.iso.

damn it.. before u could install dedup to the matching build and do the os update, that way u could still read dedup drives but you couldnt use the powershell commands >_<
anyone try the dedup files from 10147.0.150613-1600.FBL_IMPRESSIVE_SERVER_OEMRET_X64FRE_EN-US on 10240?
I managed to get it installed by first installing the parent Microsoft-Windows-ServerCore-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.10147.0, but when trying to enable the feature it fails when trying to start the service that contains the driver dedup.sys, and it rollbacks. It claims the certificate has been revoked. It seems the cert is fine, perhaps they blocked the driver itself or I did something wrong along the way. I spent some hours trying to get it to work, but I have no idea how to get around it. I might look into it some more, but I've pretty much given up on getting it to work ^^
GabeAul has twittered that a new RSAT for Win 10 and Windows Server 2016 Technical Preview 3 will be released this month
heh actually waiting on this too. Anyone know if the files here work with 10240? I may have to try, I kinda want to get dedup up and running asap. Dunno the dangers that await if I jump the gun though. well I know the dangers, still weighing them lol
