I'm running into a problem where %windir%\system32\wbem\en-us\ddp.mfl doesn't exist. I didn't see it in any of the package files (inside the .wim or extracted .cabs). Any ideas?
Now that TH2 / 10586 is out for the general public, Windows Server 2016 will also be 10586. I guess there's a lot of us on 10240 who can't upgrade to TH2 until the dedup package is build for us. Who can help?
Hi, Current package with 10514 dedup files from WS 2016 TP3 are perfectly working on 10586. This even solves the certificate problem we had at first when creating this package. You can upgrade without any problem. Regarding WS2016, there's no evidence that it's build is gonna be 10586. On the contrary, I think MS is dissociating those build. I'm really waiting for this new WS2016 TP4 build.... WZor had a build but never shared, I don't know why. Have fun
It installed fine with the 10514 files on TH2 and I was able to use it in powershell, but it refused to read my volumes. I moved back to 10565 and using the same dedup files it reads my volumes without a problem again.
Are you on the 10586 insider preview or the final TH2 release, 10586.3? I unoptimized my volumes, reinstalled TH2, and tried to enable and optimize again to see what would happen. It would show the volume as enabled but refused to optimize.
I am on TH2 release (10586.3) and I can use deduplication (both to optimize and to read) without any problems (using files from 10514).
Insider preview 10586.3 and RTM 10586.3 are identical. Both begin as 10586 and with the installation of cumulative update KB3105211, both become 10586.3.
I have to add something about this : I tried in a VM and can confirm that, when you're not integrated in a domain, you have the certificate problem. I always integrate my computer in my domain so I haven't noticed this before. I'll try to investigate further
Hello, could you pls mod b10586 pack to let it run on TH1 (LTSB) just as you did with b10514? Thanks.
Thanks guys, been waiting on this one Working great, 1% progress and already saved ~60GB space (doing my MSDN volume lol) Code: PS F:\DOWNLOADS\Deduplication_W10TH2_b10586_x64> Get-DedupStatus FreeSpace SavedSpace OptimizedFiles InPolicyFiles Volume --------- ---------- -------------- ------------- ------ 159.34 GB 58.61 GB 146 4759 G: PS F:\DOWNLOADS\Deduplication_W10TH2_b10586_x64> Get-DedupJob -Volume G: Type ScheduleType StartTime Progress State Volume ---- ------------ --------- -------- ----- ------ Optimization Manual 8:51 PM 1 % Running G:
I have almost 1TB of spared space over 4TB of (compressed) data. Surprisingly enough the deduplication is still effective even starting from data already compressed.
Extract the Rar file open admin cmd using cmd cd command goto extracted path type installer-mui-cmd enter or in powershell Example C:\Users\USER1\Downloads\Dedup-Package_10.0.10586.0_MUI\Dedup-Package_10.0.10586.0_MUI> .\installer-mui.cmd
