I dont have MSDN key my key is from HP who made my pc. the windows 8 home oem key which I did not want to use I wanted to used my 8.0 pro key I bought from best buy back in 2012.
I think he meant you have a bios (oemm, windowsm) key, a key in the bios used by oem manufacturers like HP on preinstalled windows versions on their hardware. Do you have the 1.txt for xinso?
That's so convenience, all things what can help you don't understand but you managed to keep 3 or more people busy for hours now...
press Windows+R type, WindowsAnytimeUpgradeui.exe and press enter, click I already have a product key and type in your Windows 8.1 Key then It will upgrade and reboot your system and you will have 8.1 pro. I had this exact problem before and that is how I solved it.
If a store purchased PC comes with Win 10 Home (that got activated by the owner), what are the options to upgrade it to Pro? I remember reading that Win 7 Pro --> Win 10 Pro will not work, as the hardware hash is already registered to Home (there was a thread about it here, just can not find it now) Of course Retail key purchase would work, or the KMS route.
