And why that way setup does NOT take existing key from MSDM? (which for the very machine is Home) sebus
Stop replying to me, I AM NOT TALKING TO YOU - how much more clear can I make it? This is the last time I will reply to you
Guys, get over it. Chill out, please. That was just a question, if machine is already registered with 10 Home on MS servers, I can install Win 7 OEM Pro/Ultimate on it. It will be activated, I then run upgrade inside Win 7. With NO pid.txt I assume that this would upgrade Win 7 Pro to Win 10 Home (as the existing MSDM key would be read & used) What key (I have no retail Win 7/8 Pro) would need to be used in pid.txt for the upgrade to happen to 10 Pro & auto activate on MS servers sebus
But the whole issue here was not to use VL (which of course is not a problem!) Genuine W7 or W8.x key? That would have to be Retail key. Last retail I seen was Windows 2000... Q. How to get free upgrade to 10 Pro activated via MS servers if machine comes with already activated 10 Home Thanks for the offer, but I do not need any Win 8.x key. I expect that such key would have to be "blank" (as in clean, pure, never registered one, NOT empty!), right?
Just put in an pro key of windows 8 or higher and it will activate from th2 windows 10 and for free upgrade you have to install windows 7 ultimate or windows 8 8.1 pro and kms it and then do an upgrade tot 10
You have to upgrade from an activated 7 Ult or 8.x Pro - or at least have a genuine key for one of them otherwise MS servers won't activate it genuinely The PID.txt just bypasses the Home key in the BIOS - you still need a way to be genuine with the previous OS If you activated 7 ult with windows loader, and used that OEM key in PID.txt, that might possibly work
Ofcourse, put the key of Win 8 Pro (retail, unused, or used for the very same hardware) But such keys do not grow on the trees... So one has to assume that one is NOT in possession of such retail key (unless one buys it) sebus
I will test it, but as stated previoussly, Win 10 setup will read the MSDN Home key & upgrade to HOME ONLY. And for the pid.txt there is NO key to activate via MS servers (as one has NO retail key)
Yea, but if windows loader uses that OEM key to activate 7 ult first, which we know Win 10 accepts as genuine, then maybe it will also accept that key in PID.txt and skip the Home BIOS key As long as you enter an Ult or Pro key in PID.txt, it should skip the Home key
