I's a while since I read a lot about Slic's and slic 2 I've an old Bios and want to run a bios mod, and know about the new SLIC2.1 what I wante to do is setting the old bios to the old OEM BIOS I thought of finding a way using the new tools( awardTools for doing that) Can I do that ? but seem not to find a way to make an old OEM BIOS. Can someone help me a hand -have the original BIOS -have an original ASUS CERT -have the SLI text file -Have the OEMBIOS files but I' seem to miss the OLD ASUS.BIN (is it different from the new ?) I gave it a try and got a complaint about certificat not matching Do I need an older tool to do the mod ? Thanks in advance
And what do you want to achive? Activate XP? Then you need SLP 1.0 string in your BIOS Use one of Andy's tool for this (I assume you have ASUS board) sebus
Used the award tool, and succeded in creating the new BIOS But, I had to relay on some old asus.bin /xml files i kept stored on my disk could not find the original ones in the tool anymore I gess most of us have moved to win 7 but every once and a while one needs an xp for an old machine. Let's hope my changed bios Boots If you do't here frome me again in the next weeks I Failed
Bios modded correctly now for making the OS OEMBASED what do you mean I's in there or I've made a Slic2.1 and in for problems Will download Andy's tool in anay case
I'm in trouble รค problem is preventing windows from acurately checking the license for this computer x80004005 (is this OEMBIOS access?) Now after all the magic where is the problem and what do I do about it? I was under the impression ASUS OEM was correctly detected by OEMBIOS VLK to OEM I'm using system disk H: running from the an other disk but that was supported ??!! ANy Idea how to get further I can get in the system in sve mode ... Normal mode automaticaly logs me out But I can access the file system remotely Did the classic Regsrv32 with a load of dll's but that succeded but did not help
bin fies are for modding bios rest is modding the xp ? Andy's biosmod requires slp /slic/bin/cert no how do I know my xp is active ?
