    Hi all..

I have been messing making my self an XP Pro Asus OEM cd..

Initiall after a succesfull BIOS flask to add SLP1 info along side Vista SLIC info i made an Sasus OEM disc from a XP Pro SP2 rtm disc i have.

This worked fine and when installed it began to update nicely.

So i decided to make a SP3 disc.

After intergrating SP3 into my SP2 i decided to go one little step further.Ichanged the OEMLOGO to one i made with my nick "TN" on it..

Now i dont think adding my own OEMLOGO would do owt so i am putting this down to adding SP3.

When i try to install it shows the code and tells me it is invalid. not good..

Can making an Asus OEM SP2 disc be different to making a SP3 disc..

    What did i do wrong..

Your post is a little confusing...

So when you make a SP2 disk it installs fine, but when you slipstreamed SP3 in it the disk now will not take the key at install?

Have you tried another key? Or making another disk and then adding the OEMBIOS files later?

    ahhh...

This is exactly what i have done..

1 -Taken my XP Pro SP2 cd and run it through nLite to extract ALL files.
2 -Added Asus OEM files that i downloaded from these forums.
3 - Used nLite to make an .iso image from the modded files.
4 - Burnt the .iso image to cd.
5- Installed XP off this cd...All went well, installed ok and began to update.
6- With the modded XP files which now contain Asus OEM files i used nLite
to intergrate SP3. and made a new .iso image
7 - Burnt the new image to disc.
8 - Tried to install XP Pro SP3 Asus OEM
    9 - it formats.
    it begins the install
I cutomise language and all things to United Kingdom ( which i always do
    with NO bother )
10 - it suddeny shows the Key Code and tells me the code is invalid.
When install ing from XP Pro SP2 Asus OEM i neve saw the key code
    screen.

Is intergrating SP3 onto a OEM disc wrong.

I have made several SP3 cd's from my College Edition of XP Pro SP2 for folk and they have always worked.

The only differance i have made is adding Asus OEM files before i intergrated SP3.

Maybe i should intergrate SP3 then add the OEM files ???????

Check pidgen.dll and dpcdll.dll version, do not use vlk version. And check setupp.ini (use oem version)

ahhhh i have read summet about this "vlk"...Not sure what it is though.

    Check the .dll files ?
check where and check for what exactly ?

And why adding SP3 alter these things...

pidgen.dll and dpcdll.dll_ are in the i386 directory, post the CRC32 or MD5 checksum and post your setupp.ini file.

    I think i understand now...

Both those .dll files are in the Asus OEM folder i downloaded of these forums.
These are part of the group of 9 you copy into folder i386.

obviously what is happening intergrating SP3 into my already modded SP2 files is over riding the .dll files with new ones, official ones making the new image useless.

What i need to do is,make a new SP3 disc adding what updates, etc etc i need/want to. Then using summet like Magic ISO extract all the files and then add the Asus OEM files, then burn a new cd.

Yes thats what i wll do....

offon7544 if i ask you to make a new BIOS flash for my Asrock board, would you....Please...;)

I have just found out where i was going wrong.

just in the process of making a new cd using nLite and i get to "unatended" and it was using an older session key that i had typed in.This must have been overiding everything.
My first attempt i must have not loaded last session so the unatended key was not used...

    DOH...
