Hi! I’m trying to convert the xp x64 sp1 trial to sp2 vlk. I used 76588270 and 51882270 as pid and B2RBK and FTQQR as keys. They work fine, but I still get the 60 day activation balloon. So, how do I get vlk working (no activation)? Thanks
Changing the setupp.ini to accept vlk keys only does that i,e let it accept the vlk key there are more files needed i,e, Xp corpfiles. Anyway we discourage the use of VLK because keys get blacklisted far better reading the sickies on HP DMI boot cd and make HP oem cd.
Thanks for replying! I copied some files(pidgen and dpcdll) from the extracted sp2.exe. I also edited SETUPREG.hiv to remove timer from it. I also tried copying dpcdll.dl_ and nt5inf.ca_into it,but it still showed 60 day wpa balloon. I even copied all the files from some corp-vlk.rar,but it didn't work. I used 76588270 for VLK because xp x64 oem cd has 76588OEM. Could it be because of 5x MPC code? Just guessing because that code differentiates an eval and a retail r2 enterprise.(Just an observation.) I have been using vlk on xp32, as I usually never visit ms for downloading/updating files like wmp,etc which requires wga.Moreover, vlk doesn't have hardware "restrictions"(reactivation if size of ram changes),so it is easier to deal with when installing in VMWare and in a real computer. So, I was hoping that if this works out, then I won't have to 'modbios my vmware' or 'install loader in real computer'. I ventured into this after converting xp x86 sp2 vlk into retail and oem. It worked there. So, I expected the reverse here too. I've Gigabyte G45,can I expect HP oem to work? Thanks
There is a genuine .iso of XP PRO x64 SP2 Corp. (VLK) posted on Demonoid torrent site, you could use that instead. @urie --- I don't know who told you that VLK is just exactly the same as pro just that it doesn't require on-line activation but keys get blacklisted OEM SLP is best of all no activation i,e pre-activated. --- I thought XP Professional x86 has 3 broad channels - OEM , Retail and VLK. In oem, there are 2 vers - slp and non-slp. slp-oem : from big pc manufacturer like dell hp /restricted to particular sys manufacturer hardware/doesn't need reactivation for change in ram gpu but mobo/preactivated non-oem : from smaller pc manufacturer / requires activation Retail: os cds that you buy from store /not restricted to any particular hardware/CANNOT remove or add ram gpu etc without reactivation/ requires activation VLK/Corp: FOR big IT companies /not restricted to any particular hardware/can remove or add ram gpu mobo etc /no need for activation at all. In xp pro x64: only OEM and VLK are there, there is no retail. right ? Correct me if I'm incorrect! BTW,what did you mean by relating "VLK is just exactly the same as pro"? Doesn't pro stand for professional ? blacklisted FCKGW problem : If someone doesn't use ms website for downloading wmp10,earlier ie7,etc and "automatic updates" is disabled,then he/she should be fine. right ? FCKGW was blacklisted in SP2(if i remember correctly),people got other vlk/corp key to install sp2/sp3. So,vlk would be "great" for me!
