Just because of the WLAN driver ? Why do you keep installing Lite versions? XP should work fine without any mods Have a look in device manager and see what the model WLAN is in there, maybe there is an XP driver for it Is the WLAN a USB one ? I can't see one mentioned in the specs
I did install Windows XP (full, regular), but I found that is was a lot heavier than Win7Lite: that was the reason for me to try WinXPLite. But any lite version of XP lacked of WLAN functionality. I did try to install several WLAN drivers of XP, as I already back-upped all drivers before. But nevertheless it didn't bring the solution. There is no inbuilt WLAN functionality, but I tried two drivers/WLAN's: Ahteros AR5007G Wireless Network Adapter and Sitecom Realtek RTL8192S Wireless USB 2.0 Network Adapter, of which I have the original drivers on CD. I tried to install the XP drivers, but that didn't succeed. So I think the WLAN functionality lacked in those XP lite versions, and not the absence of drivers, as I had those present and tried to install them.
That's what I did, but in my laptop there is no card or Multimedia Audio Controller: it says: The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28) So there is no sound card. On mouse over on the crossed speaker symbol in the system tray the indication says: No Audio Output Device is installed. Please let me know if there is another place I have to look for the data.
In device management you should notice exclamation marks in yellow triangles for devices that are missing appropriate drivers. - Click the tabs for these devices. Code: RUN: devmgmt.msc
That yellow exclamation mark is reported under Other devices. And there is says what I already mentioned in my last post.
I think this cannot be found, as it cannot be classified and therefor appears under Other devices in the Device Manager. So no indication like you mentioned.
