@untermensch There is a serious problem with system that has already grub4dos/menu.lst installed. On such system, due only to the presence of menu.lst, the boot process (with w7ldr) hangs (blinking cursor). Problem easily reproducible, just create a simple menu.lst (maybe simply 0-byte, not yet checked) at the root of the Win7 drive (or at the root of any partition in fact. It could also be under /boot/grub/). Be careful when reproducing the problem, you must ensure that you can boot your system by other means (BartPE, LiveCD...) in order to rename or delete the menu.lst. The fix is to patch w7ldr or exactly w7ldr1 the "menu.lst" string occurrences with for example "$enu.lst". There are 3 or 4 occurrences of it in the file. With the final w7ldr patched no more problem! Of course you need to repackage the whole content (md5...).
Using my suggested method does not eliminate Pqboot. You will still boot that way and the other partitions will still be hidden. Adding the XP loader files in no way affects that. I have 2 year old 52 1080p inch 1080p Vizio calibrated by me with a DPT94 colorimeter. I am waiting for the Sept release of the 55 inch LED backlit, local dimming Vizio. If the initial reviews look good, I'll get that.
What's the difference between this loader and 7loader 1.4, or even WoW? Is one better than the other? Thanks EDIT: Oh and I already have grub (not grub4dos) installed because I multiboot Linux... is it safe to use?
untermensch- What happened? Why do you delete your loader link and description? Is there a problem with v1.0.1.4? EDIT: I noticed all of your posts in this thread was deleted. What is going on here? EDIT2: I guess you will open a new thread. also: How come some users report that hazar+oribit loader works with dynamic disks and your loader does not? after all both hazar and your loader use grub4dos boot loader. if that is true there must be a way to make your loader works with dynamic disks. maybe GRUB2?
I recommand everybody not to use v1.0.1.4 untill untermensch will post it again. there must be a reason why everything removed by untermensch from the first page.
this is all just speculations.. Can someboady really explain what happened to untermensch ? untermensch- please post here or in pm where your project continue (where are you gonna support + release your new versions of the loader..)
intersting question i used latest untermensch loader and it works like charme but what happend when first patches or SP1 comes out for Win7 Yeah i know till then there are tons of keys around but can untermenschs loder stand hard against SP1 or newer patches?? thats my interesting question for untermensch he knows his loder best
Hans2009- no loader can yet, because in SP1 levono key will probably get disabled, but wait for next month when apparently the new asus oemslp keys are leaked than untermensch will just replace the key it will forever since new computes will be sold with those keys.
when i understand right the key in untermensch loader is lenovo key? and in 1 month he can get 100 of original keys and he pick one or more? in his loader and Microsoft can blacklist them because original pc users use them?
yes. no, read about oemslp keys, those keys and also certs are given to royalty manufacturers like dell, asus etc... the manufacturers make the computers with slic2.1 table so the only make an iso that include the key+cert and install this on their computers, so when a user buy a computer from them - the os come preinstalled. this keys technicallycan't get disabled, if microsoft disable those keys they will make a lot of trouble to the users who bought the computers, but since no computers will be sold with levono key (as stated by microsoft) mirosoft CAN however "blacklist" the key for updates, so if you use thiis key you will probably will have wga s**t (the star) and you will not get updates.. (you computer may still remain activated if they don't update the activation files which is very likely) anyway LEVONO will get a new oemslp keys from microsoft..
