You can't save anything on pendrive by using any program that isn't Explorer.

Hello, I'm using Windows 11 and I'm annoyed by this problem.

Whenever I try to save something to my pendrive by using another program, it just denies access. Windows Explorer works with making folders and saving files. It's some issue with a service, because under Safe Mode everything works correctly, not even disabling not-MS services helps fix this problem. I also get errors in Event Log like this:

Unable to access device <device path> after installing drivers. Error code 0x80070002.

Is there any fix for that?

I mainly use Total Commander for wW10/11 without any problem. Works well both for USB2 and 3. There will be also other File Manipulating Apps that will just work as well too!

What apps didn't work for YOU?

It should work, if it works in safe mode.

What does your pendrive security table show? Who is allowed access?

If the pen drive is formatted with FAT32 (or exFAT), there is no Security. Only NTFS-formatted USB drives have that.

I can't. It'll always throw a error. I'm pretty sure that the system or it's services are causing problems, not pendrive. I was able to use it normally under safe mode so I think it's a problem somewhere in the registry or with something else.

Nope, that didn't fix. I'd rather see what else could be preventing it from working correctly, and probably would look in registry or check services.

theres a security thing in defender that doesnt allow untrusted sources from or to usb drives, try something with certification?
its a long stretch but give it a go
As for drive errors, try repair on another machine
