For those who can't install using the standard setup (from boot), try to replace these files inside boot.wim index #2 sources folder: Code: hwcompat.dll hwcompat.txt hwexclude.txt With the files from 21390, for me now i can use the standard setup without any incompatibility errors on real hardware EDIT: Not going thru
This install is a good example of why I always dual boot. Go into a different operating system. Format the partition to install Windows 11. Mount the Windows 11 ISO. Know which SKU you wish to install, then open command as administrator, and use this code to easily install Windows 11 without any issues. After applying the image you just restart, and continue with the installation. DISM /Apply-Image /ImageFile:<path to the install.wim> /Index:<index # of SKU> /ApplyDir:<Path to Partition> /compact
Yeah, best way to install an OS by installing another OS first ps, why do you use the /compact switch?
LOL, I already have two operating systems installed, so I don't "install another first." I use the compact switch because the installation takes up less space, and also because I can.
I did a new install (using ENTST's exported esd, index 19) using my own setup doowacky, this time without the unattended.xml. I was ready to write down all the things I hated about this new Windows 11, but have to admit the list is pretty much empty My PostInstall tool also ran without problems, so that's another good sign. All my small and big tools. settings, tweaks (there's a LOT of them) seem to work OK. I only have to figure out what's new about the unattended stuff. New versions strings maybe?
Those who are getting the message This PC is unsupported to install Windows 11 can use the below method - Copy any Windows 10 64 bit ISO content (excluding install.wim) to bootable USB media . - Copy the install.wim from Windows 11 ISO to bootable USB media sources folder. - Boot from USB and install the OS.
