MilkChan, while I probably can't help track down the hotfix you're looking for, I am curious if you've applied any patches or updates to the OS? I'll state something rather obvious too,, what you're seeing there is NOT a leak in GDI resources.
Heh, I've been finding references to user32.dll too. Perhaps finding an update for user32.dll could help, although the references I've been finding suggest getting the version of the installation disc/disks is the way to go. I was thinking there might be a way to, ideally temporarily, disable, lpkthai.dll. You might search for it in the registry and see what keys are there, perhaps you could have a couple of reg files one to disable and one to re-enable.
I'll DM you because I'm very busy on NT 5x right now so I don't have time. I have all versions of Windows 9x sold by Microsoft in my country, thank you very much. that tells me how to fix the problem
Possibly. I'm not certain what I'm thinking will (or can be made to) work. I'll tinker with it when I have the time. Perhaps someone else who knows how to deal or can find a solution to the issue before I get to it will reply Edit: If you're running a 'language switcher' where you can change langauges in the taskbar, you might want to try killing that before running problematic exe files.

It occurs to me that these are IE6sp1 updates. The reason I have the updates that I do in my list, is because that's what the WindowsUpdate site wanted. Of course, the WindowsUpdate site could've been wrong or installing unneeded updates. I'm almost positive that KB916281 is the last *official* cumulative update for 98/SE/ME for IE 6sp1. I think I took someone else's advice back then and ran them in reverse order, hence why it's the first IE update that I apply. I don't remember everything from back then, but I just recalled that. Of course, if cumulative really means cumulative, then...
After installing KB823353 + KB887797, update KB837009 does not install. But this is how WU offered KB837009 + KB823353.
Sorry, you're speaking of Outlook Express, not IE6sp1, aren't you? I think that's what was confusing me. For at least some of those updates MS had the same KB numbers for both OE6sp1 and IE6sp1.
