so I was wrong and it's pretty much confirmed that this is because of Net35 feature in pending state W10UI works as intended and there's nothing to fix it's better to build 22621.1 build or get it from ESD / official insider ISO and update that base build or just do not update builds with enabled Net35 feature

If you remove Pending.xml, what needs to be done post-installation will not be done. But it allows CleanUp. However, this is not feasible, as netfx3 would have to be integrated again. At IMCK I have an automated process that does everything that needs to be done. CleanUp is suggested before enabling features. After that, Pending will be activated. and there are around 80 features that generate pending. So 2 things can be done: 1. CleanUp and Enable netfx3, just before committing and unmounting the image. (tested and works) 2. Keeping things in order, move the pending.xml to a temporary folder, CleanUp and return the pending. (I raised this hypothesis now and never tested it).

I have tried extracting the whole Embedded-Foundation and Embedded-NetFX packages and then intergrated into Windows 8 client. After that,it do succeeded in installing both NET 4.8 and IE 11（Actually it did not add anything except those catalogues and mums,so your method might be more easier） and I think the language resource might should be installed too ?

I'm only interested in dpx.dll workaround, suppressed cleanup output isn't a big deal and not informative for me I don't know how implement it better, my suggestions are: 1. detect expand.exe in bin folder and use it instead (it will use dpx.dll if it's available next to it) 2. the same as the 1st suggestion but also detect it in W10UI folder as well (as it works now with PSFExtractor.exe and cdimage.exe) 3. detect DesktopDeployment.cab in updates repo folder and extract dpx.dll from it + copy system expand.exe to some temp folder and use it from there with newer dpx.dll the third variant isn't flexible enough: system expand.exe may become outdated as well, the same could happen with extracting from DesktopDeployment.cab with system expand.exe preferable all-in-one suggestion: implement the 3rd variant by default, but if expand.exe was detected in bin or W10UI folder then use it instead: 1. if expand.exe was detected in bin or W10UI folder without dpx.dll then extract dpx.dll from DesktopDeployment.cab in updates repo folder 2. if expand.exe was detected in bin or W10UI folder with dpx.dll then ignore DesktopDeployment.cab if it's presented in updates repo folder If it's all getting too complicated for W10UI script then I would be happy with the first or the second suggestion because this way we can control expand.exe and dpx.dll versions manually
expand.exe is just CLI front end for cabinet.dll, it does not affect the process that much or get outdated besides, DesktopDeployment.cab is regular cab, not IPD cab, it will always be extractable your 3 suggestions can be implemented
oh, so I need to keep in mind a cabinet.dll as well, thank you with this info I think the third suggestion is the most user friendly and easy to implement: so people will add just one extra "update" DesktopDeployment.cab and everything will be fine
dpx.dll workaround isn't working if I'm building arm64 build on amd64 system right now script removes expand.exe and dpx.dll from bin folder maybe it's better to detect that files somewhere so it would be possible to build arm64 builds at all? the same thing for W10UI: seems like 1st or 2nd suggestion is a way to go for arm64 builds on amd64 systems
I did not think of arm64 or took it into consideration (who use it anyway ) the script always remove expand.exe and dpx.dll from bin folder, as they ment as temporary procedure
