Press 0 to exit. why is it cut into separate scripts now? Seems that is the reason why the ini takes over? create_virtual most likely reads the ini, lacking the wim2esd =1 when called separately. ps, skipedge is probably not used, 20211 still has legacy edge in.
Test result: Success, ISO with ESD is created. To my knowledge, it was always that way. Yes, SkipEdge is simply ignored if not applicable. The reason why I have wim2esd=0 in the INI is that I simply didn't touch it. Only required if you use Autostart=1. Some further thoughts: - As it stands now, the .NET update will be included with all downloads now, so, integrating updates is always a thing (please note that even Windows 7 has no problem at all with integrating .NET). As it currently stands, if you download the normal SKUs, you get Home (+N) and Pro (+N). The converter has to integrate the update into 4 indexes. Wouldn't it be far better to only download Home and Home N, integrate the update(s) and then create all other SKUs from these? Would cut the integration time down further, only needs half the mount, integration, save, unmount processes. Only two times instead of four. - A new option to insert an optional pause just before creating the final ISO, for manually copying custom scripts etc. (e. g. MRP). Then, just ALT-TAB back and resume operation.
See my progress posts, all are ran into one. You have autostart set to =0 causing the separate cmd windows opening and running the scripts separately. 20211.1005 lacked the ndp48 update, in my 20211.1005 progress post it was present because i cheated and used the 20211.1000 UUPs folder, which already contained the cab. In certain scenarios it goes that way, have to search for some progress posts to find in what scenario all SKUs are created from the base one. Better yet, my last progress shows it's actually only updating image 1 and 2 (home and home n) and all others are created from them. Although all 4 base indexes are initially created, note that only 2 mounts are for integrating the ndp48 update, the 3rd one is for set-edition the home index to pro.
Does this affect the normal usage of the ini, as uup dump generates it according to the online selected settings?
So, what do I download from UUP (I'm downloading manually and do the conversion locally)? Default is Home, Home N, Pro, Pro N. Will the converter ignore the Pro SKUs in this case?
not precisely it need the Pro ESDs for conversion but when integrating updates, it does discard Pro indexes and create them from updated Home indexes if you suggest i add an option to create Pro editions directly from Home ESDs, that will need much work
As long as everything works out in the end, I don't care. No, not at all. Just wanted to make sure the default UUP set of packages for four SKUs downloaded will not conflict with your solution. As that doesn't seem to be the case, well, case closed. Half the mounts, integrates, unmounts = half the potential trouble, and half the time (roughly).
I downloaded the update KB4577051 x86 and now want to install it using W7ESUI. I read the readme file but it won't work. How do I get it to install this?
Thanks for your reply. I got it to work by simply right clicking on the downloaded KB update file, open with W7ESUI, right click to open as administrator, and then it installed it. I also had to turn off windows updates, because it kept taking over the install process and failing to install, and then reverting back to August.
For sure windows update was interfering. But I still don't know how to use the 1-2-E options that W7ESUI provides to install with. By simply right clicking the KB file to open with W7ESUI was easier and worked perfectly.
