I had the motherboard replaced yesterday. I just noticed that the tech messed up the service tag that he put in. They basically put in 1234567 when the service tag is supposed to be 1234657. There used to be a "close hold" utility to change the service tag on laptops called DSTCD that allowed you to do it. I don't know if it would work with newer Alienware systems such as the x17 r1. Further complicating it is that all download locations that I have found for DSTCD are no longer valid.

Is there a utility that one of you know of that can change the service tag? I was told that the motherboard would have to be changed again for it to be fixed but I would rather not have to deal with that BS.
