    Windows update and driver update find nothing. I verified model and win version and downloaded from Intel, also tried 3rd party website to match VEN & DEV, and Intel's assistant software – all point to the same drivers, but it installs no drivers.

    I backed up all BIOS history, and comparing files, they are different from each other, but the last one is also different from your downloaded ROM, that it was flashed from. Is it ok? I only made a boot order change in BIOS, ever, and did try reloading the defaults and reflashing.

    Sorry, I forgot that this old Compaq can only boot from USB FDD.
    Now boot to Windows and make BIOS dump with Universal BIOS Backup Toolkit and upload it (I'll check is the Mod was flashed successfully)
