[Answered] Wasted disk space, I think

    I have install.wim and install.esd on root of c:.
    Can I delete/remove these?

    Are they in a C:\ESD folder? I just upgraded a PC from Windows 7 to 10 using the media creation tool and noticed those files. They're safe to remove, you can even remove them using disk cleanup and selecting "ESD...". They are downloaded and used for the upgrading of Windows, and can safely be removed.

    ...and the plot thickens. You should analyze them. I don't know how, but I'd figure it out just for this. What version are they, etc.

    No! Analyze them for version number to see what might have happened.

    Edit: and then delete them.
