I have install.wim and install.esd on root of c:.
Can I delete/remove these?
They shouldn't even be there...
Now everybody's going to be wondering how they got there.
Not by normal use
Are they in a C:\ESD folder? I just upgraded a PC from Windows 7 to 10 using the media creation tool and noticed those files. They're safe to remove, you can even remove them using disk cleanup and selecting "ESD...". They are downloaded and used for the upgrading of Windows, and can safely be removed.
Me too. They have been there since last November. They are in C:\
Yes, do it please...
...and the plot thickens. You should analyze them. I don't know how, but I'd figure it out just for this. What version are they, etc.
No! Analyze them for version number to see what might have happened.
Edit: and then delete them.
They are gone. Thanks
