In the meantime my online resetbase is still running (88%) after like 4 hrs I did it on baremetal to speedup the thing. It wasn't the brightest idea ever How much it would take on a mechanical HDD ?
resetbase 4 hrs? try this Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SideBySide\Configuration] "DisableResetbase"=dword:00000000
When was the last time you tried a resetbase on an OS from 2015, with two big CUs installed on top of the RTM plus another 14 various updates? In 14393 it may be worse. Likely dim is a tad faster, but the updated are wayyy bigger. Thanks for the suggestion. But what that has to do with the speed of a manual operation? DisableResetbase=1 AFAIK means just that the PC does automatically the resetbase after WU applies the CU*
Yea, but 17763 has way smaller updates, you need usually just a single CU not two, and maybe a .net update. Not 14 DISM was also fairly revolutionized starting from 1809. And possibly your PC is faster than mine. So it's like comparing win 3.11 with XP
In order to do that AUTOMATICALLY I'm doing it MANUALLY, like I did each time it was needed since 2015 You dont want that your corporate website suddenly goes down because the systemdisk ran out of space. Nor you want to pay your IT guys to waste their time (and your money) doing resetbases manually on hundreds of servers. Isn't it?
I second that. But you don't like your SKUwitch being abused, do you? I think so. SKUwitch? Interesting.
I perfectly agree, are you saying that I missed to credit you somewhere about something? Sometimes speak by letters, not telegrams. Less chances for misunderstanding
No, I just saw this ... (and tried to comfort you) https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...t-install-settings.84501/page-12#post-1754805
I already know that you like Azure more than Hyper. What else? Can you switch from one build to another? e.g. From 17763 to 19041. (I can't.)
Love or like are personal opinion, You like the blue color and I like the yellow color and we are both right. Policies and or features like numbers are facts. If two OSes cost the same amount of money, take the same amount of HDD space, the same ram and so on, but one of the two has a newer kernel, can be a domain controller, have the deduplication out of the box, while the second has nothing of this, I choose the former. Not because I love it, but because I'm not stupid
