    It's a common issue for some of the latest Asrock's BIOSes - security settings have been strengthened and the modified BIOS can be flashed with the SPI flash programmer only.

    is there a specific one you would recommend? a quick search shows some as low as $5 all the way up to $80

    I hot flashed a bios before but that was with 2 identical boards and a blank replacement BIOS chip; never messed with an SPI flasher
