Not an expert in this - but I also had issues with removing SLIC from Asus' BIOS after easily adding it with "new module" / PhoenixTool - my previous post on this: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...-in-newer-asus-uefi.31404/page-9#post-1405995 You need to erase a certain block ID with the Award utility that seems to be different on various boards - so in the end I erased them all. But you lose all custom DMI data, thus you need to restore UUID, serials, likely NIC MAC and so on. As you've found the great thing about Asus/New Module is that SLIC stays across BIOS updates but it is a pain to remove/replace ;( With other BIOSes you may need to mod each update and/or ask Serge here ) I will also transition my Asus systems from SLIC 2.5 to 2.6 (in addition to the EVGA system whose BIOS I cannot mod and asked above), thus will try to work out which is the "right" block/module for SLIC - unless someone knows better - so that not all blocks need be deleted. I hope this helps.
Here is the guide/post I used to remove SLIC: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...c-in-newer-asus-uefi.31404/page-7#post-849131 I used the official /unmodified version of the same version I had installed - and erased all blocks to erase the existing SLIC. The "issue" is with Step 2 of the guide: "2. In any x64 Windows OS download amiflash.zip and extract Aptio Afuwin64 folder. Open it and run AFUWINGUI.EXE. Click Open and select official or your modded (doesn't matter) .cap file. On the opened SETUP tab uncheck all boxes and check only box #2 under "Non-critical block" caption. Press Flash and wait till it's green." I have no idea what non-criticial block (aka "box") to erase, so in the end I checked and erased them all (Asus X299). That certainly erased the SLIC but also erased all unique DMI data as well... so if you need to save it and then recreate it all.
