For the first (KB4534310) that was the January rollup before the ESU program started, i.e. the last official pre-ESU update.
For the second, the May rollup, did you first install the latest (May) SSU -- KB4555449?

Tried installing on a VM. Windows 7 professional. Ran the Bypass (Bypass 7), selected option 1, everything installed fine, but WU saw no updates. Rebooted, same thing. Stopped the service, deleted c:\windows\softwaredistribution, re-ran WU same thing. WU sees nothing past 1/2020. Any ideas?

    Hi

Does this work on windows 7 home premium? And does anyone have proof of updates actually being obtained?

This is what has worked for me:

    1. Do a clean install of Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit.

    2. Get it completely up-to-date, including Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 and the January 2020 Servicing Stack Update(KB4536952).

    3. Run the BypassESU-v5 tool and select option #1.

    4. Install the February 2020 Internet Explorer 11 update and Security Monthly Quality Rollup and Servicing Stack Update - in that order.

    5. Install the March 2020 Internet Explorer 11 update and Security Monthly Quality Rollup and Servicing Stack Update - in that order.

    6. Install the April 2020 Internet Explorer 11 update and Security Monthly Quality Rollup and Servicing Stack Update - in that order.

    7. Install the May 2020 Internet Explorer 11 update and Security Monthly Quality Rollup and Servicing Stack Update - in that order.

    8. Run the BypassESU-v7 tool and select option #7.

    9. Install the May 2020 Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 update.

    Note:

The BypassESU-v7 tool cannot be installed until AFTER the May 2020 Servicing Stack Update(KB4555449) is installed.

Make sure to stop the "Windows Update" service from running BEFORE running either bypass tool and BEFORE installing each post-EOL update.

Make sure to restart the computer AFTER running each bypass tool and AFTER installing each post-EOL update.

    plarfman:

The post-EOL ESU updates are supported by Professional and Enterprise, and possibly by Ultimate.

They are not supported by Starter or Home Premium.

to save time you can 2 options
1)install a copy of Gen2's iso of 7 with all the updates
2)after a clean install ,use the simplix pack 7 to full update your system and then apply the bypasstool

you save a lot of TIME with these 2 options.

Installing Gen2 crapware is generally not recommended, sorry. Bad advice.

You don't know what you get with those releases, if they even work, then you don't know what they did to it, like in the past they used to f**k up an old MRP project, nitted all code together and next we get the questions about all kinds of troubles.

Dont do that, does not matter how much of value specific person has in specific community - always double-check or rather do by himself when it comes to security. It does not take much to download legit win7 iso all required updates and integrate by yourself. This way you can be 100% there are no surprises.

Same with abbodi1406's work, I respect the tools he provides but I always double-check what I can :p

I understand where you are coming from and generally agree (especially for work environment) but at some point there is balancing a degree of trust over time spent. I could manually download and audit each update, disable telemetry where found and so on, but at the end of the day the surprises are from Microsoft. There will always be more layers to peel back, it's just a matter of how far you are willing go for peace of mind.
