Been a forum member for 7+ months, trying to follow developments, trying to separate out the noise. Although I am not a computer novice, this Bypass process seems complicated. I'm doing my best to ask the pertinent questions, and to pay attention.

I am not interested in using WU, just the catalog. Since I only have .NET 3.x installed, I don't believe I will need the separate option for .NET Framework 4.x updates,.

So here's a question... if a user is 8 months behind (that'd be me), must all SSU's be installed individually, in sequence, with corresponding Monthly Quality Rollups? Or is it possible to skip to the most recent SSU and most recent Monthly Quality Rollup, and just install them?

Put it another way, is it correct that Rollups include all previous updates, so that the last rollup covers all changes?

I may have another question or two as I go forward. Most importantly, I have fresh Macrium Reflect backup on hand in case I run into trouble.

    Thanks for any assistance!

There is your answer and you are correct. All that is needed is the prerequisite updates and the most recent SSU and most recent Monthly Quality Rollup.:good3:

And the two manual .NET ESU installers?

Can you post the simplix log?

Else try to do a repair upgrade, create an uptodate ISO, including all latest updates, incl. .net and extract it and run setup.exe.

    Code:
    0x641 = 0x80070641 = 1601 = ERROR_INSTALL_SERVICE_FAILURE = The Windows Installer service could not be accessed.
meaning the .NET bypass is not working for you (blocked by AV, or not compatible)

    try the standalone manual installer

Hello, I cannot get this to work...

    I don't get option [1] and [2] at all,
    Only [3] [7] and [9]
I try [3] but I get no updates after a reboot.

    I have all the prerequisites.

I am not sure I understand this:
"You get option [1] only if all Suppressor/Patcher/.NET Bypass are not installed"
but it could be part of the reason, I guess?

I never installed any ESU suppressor, though Windows itself is patched with a loader, if that is what it is referring to.

    @nonhocapito

Did you installed KB4528069 before? that's the ESU suppressor

    what's your OS edition?
are you sure KB4538483 or KB4575903 is installed?

can you check if C:\Windows\System32\wuaueng3.dll exist after reboot?

I didn't quite understand how to use this tool. When I'm trying to run LiveOS installation, it says that I haven't installed updates, but I installed one ofthem, because others just refuse to install. I decided to use WIM integration method. I have unpacked Windows 7 ISO and moved install.wim from it to the batch. It patched it sucessfuly using first method, and I've reinstalled my system using new ISO. Was it installed sucessfully?

But in this case, the Standalone Installer for .NET 4.x ESU must be uninstalled after updating the Framework and if so what procedure to follow?
    I thank

Thank you for your reply. I hadn't understood the suppressor was an update.

    I do have KB4528069 installed.

but I can't uninstall it for some reason ("an error has occurred. Not all updates were unistalled")

Tried with cmd wusa, but it says it can't find the file (error 0x80070002)

    I have KB4538483 installed.

There is no wuaueng3.dll, only wuaueng.dll and wuaueng2.dll. But now I have removed the WU ESU Patcher, seeing that it didn't seem to work.

I have Windows 7 sp1, updated to whatever was the last available update.

The question was what SKU (starter, basic, premium, pro, ultimate or enterprise) do you run?

    Sorry. Of course. Ultimate.

Now I tried the patcher again (choice [3]).

Wuaueng3.dll is there after a reboot.

    Still no updates.

Yes, I am an idiot, I had skipped that part. I deleted the folder. Got the updates. Installed them. Thank you for the help!

I still have this .NET update that won't install though, kb4570506, but that's from before.

    kb4570506 contains 4 updates, 1 is for .351 (kb4569767) and there is a ndp45 (kb456978), a ndp47 (kb4569775) and a ndp48 update (kb4569754).

Which is the failing one now?

dotNetFx4_ESU_Installer.cmd do not leave any traces
it add temporary self-bypass, install updates, then remove the sefl-bypass

it's the safest approach to install .NET 4 ESU updates

I suppose the update for NET Framework 4.8, that's the framework version I seem to have installed.

Maybe it's already asked, but did you try this?

    Hi Enthousiast,

I am methodically going over abbodi1406's original thread post. I do understand and have installed the Prerequisites.

In my case, I haven't used any of the previously released ESU Bypass tools, so BypassESU v7 will be my first ESU tool.

In addition, I am also carefully reading your Official ESU Bypass v7 Tutorial + ESU Updates Overview post, and it is here that I have encountered a question.

The tutorial says to unpack the 7z to a folder with a short path, then rightclick "LiveOS-Setup.cmd" and select "run as admin" and allow at UAC. It is here that the tutorial states there will be 5 options, and I am not clear on which I should select. Or, do I select them all, one at a time?

[1] This option will install both, ESU suppressor, WU patcher and the .NET 4 ESU Bypass.
[2] This option will install the ESU suppressor
[3] This option will install the WU patcher
[7] This option will install the .NET 4 ESU Bypass
[9] This option will exit the bypass installer.

Very likely a dumb question, but I prefer to ask the dumb questions first so as to possibly prevent a screw up later. :)
    Assistance is greatly appreciated.
