Apologies if this was asked and answered already, but is there somewhere we can make a paypal donation to the people who made and are updating this hack? I appreciate that they may wish to remain anonymous but just asking.
Honestly I hope so. But, for god knows what reason, some programs still rely somewhat on older ActiveX based controls, and the convenience of accessing a built-in system browser feature. (I'm looking at you, Autocad!) And once in a while, it might be decent as a secondary browser-- at least for compatibility with certain websites. Don't forget, before we had HTML5, we had Adobe Flash and MSIE.
When Windows 7 reached its official EOL in January 2020, Internet Explorer 11 was at version 11.0.170 With the deployment of ESU updates afterwards, its version increased every month by 5 (175, 180, 185, etc.). Last month, it was at version 11.0.210 This is the first month its version has not increased, so it's still at version 11.0.210 And yes, Internet Explorer 11 is part of the security monthly quality update.
Offered for installation today: KB954430 - no one else has mentioned this update in their posts, might be an old one that has slipped through. KB4580345 2020-10 Security and Quality Rollup for .NET Framework 3.5.1, 4.5.2, 4.6, 4.6.1, 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1, 4.7.2, 4.8 for Windows 7 for x64 (KB4579977) After disabling net bypass rebooted but no SSU KB4580970 was offered. Am currently employing BypassESU-v9-AIO the most recent one from OP Wondering If I've got something out of sequence. I didn't choose Install .Net 4 ESU BYPASS on the first run and 2 updates failed. After that I rebooted and then installed the above .NET bypass which allowed KB954430 and KB4579977 to successfully install as they had failed on the first run. .Net 4 ESU BYPASS is now disabled But no KB4580970 has to date been offered. Am I perhaps doing something that is holding it back? cheers, hugh
However, there is an Oct 2020 SSU KB4580970 And, once again, a big Thank You to all involved in this effort.
Whoops - Servicing stack has just showed up in WU after another reboot to check a different OS. 2020-10 Servicing Stack Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB4580970) Installing now - must have done something right after all. WU says I have no updates hidden and can't find KB954430 in the actual installed updates window - Good! Thanks, hugh
Employing Bypass v9 I cannot seem to get KB4579977 installed regardless of what I do. I have restarted multiple times and uninstalled and installed the .net and esu patch, but not the suppressor as I do updates through WU. Seems to happen every other month now. Any and all help is appreciated.
For the October Windows & Office updates everything worked as smooth as silk on my Desktop PC & Notebook running Windows 7 Professional 64-Bit. My hat goes off to the developer of this BypassESU-v9 wonderful tool. Hopefully for the month of November & December it will go also as smoothly as Octobers updates with no bumps in the highway.
Worked perfectly again this month - Many thanks to the developers who are maintaining this functionality ! If Microsoft would incorporate Windows 7 UI functionality as an option for Windows 10, these efforts would not be necessary IMHO. Forcing users to update to newer versions with inferior capabilities is misguided. Forcing users who choose to continue using Windows 7 to do so without providing security updates (which are already available) is wrong.
what's the error you get? try the latest standalone .NET 4 Bypass https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...dates-eligibility.80606/page-218#post-1618511
I was having problems installing sept security only manually but I read the first post and noticed they'd stop working on v7 (I was on v5). I've updated to v9 now and all is up to date. Just wanted to say thanks to all involved for this wonderful tool.
